While Uruguay doesn't necessarily have antagonistic relations with Iran - to expect all the visa stuff to go through in a matter of days, plus get coordinate additional games, would be a heck of a ask.

He's being attacked very unfairly.

These people criticizing him are nothing but social media warriors. They think they are the only ones who have issues with IR.
They expect everyone to parrot their talking points, and if you don't - they'll label you as a traitor, a sellout, a "mozdoor"...

Why is he even justifying himself to these people.

But people are not dumb, they see through this kind of bullshit.

A free and democratic society requires everyone to be treated as and equal and as an end themselves. That includes everyone even opponents.

There were discussions concerns about IR before Swedish FA invited them for friendlies. Swedes pragmatically solved the issue by inviting mens NT for a game and also Womens NT for a game. This they did to keep their integrity intact and also at the same time shut up those extreme paid-activists that has as a profession to stir up as much noise as possible. Compare this to how fake humanitarian Canada solves issues. This is how democracies ought to work. This is how habermas and Dahl teaches us to solve issues.

Canada have a tack record of virtue signaling.

- Just look at the low amount of refugees they embraced from Syria (5000 total, and also cherry picked all the educated ones), compare it to Germany and Sweden
- Just look at their black-facing president talking about values he does not adhere to, in Sweden he would have been verbally lynched and possibly thrown out of office.
- Just look at how they treat their environment.

he has a great podcast, and lifts up interesting players and does great intervues with people in our football, something that we have been missing and only Gol Bezan and Team Melli Talk does..

They were insinuating that he was a regime sympathizer for once retweeting NIAC link to a Iran-Iraq match (which he took down once he found out they are political org).
Then they went after him for having the onion in the Gol Bezan Logo.
Then they were condescending because apparently 2nd generation Iranians don't know how bad IR is.

Then they brought up South Africa and how boycotts work (as if they're Nelson Mandela), at which point I was laughing my ass off because Arya mentioned he watched Hotel Rwadna.

Overall very incoherent set of arguments, some of which legit. But it was nicely summed up by one of them (who was Canadian or Iranian depending which was more convenient for her argument) that the goal is to make life so shit in Iran through sanctions and boycotts that people rise up.

I still don't understand how depriving the people of Iran may the be in or abroad, of 90 minutes of break from the misery in Iran, is supposed to be good thing.

I remember all of that rubbish on the Team Melli Reddit page, attacking Gol Bezan. Arya I have a lot of time and respect for you and the work that the guys at Gol Bezan are doing to showcase our footballers and get their voices heard.

Not true , none of it.

*-Iran has a friendly relation with all immediate neighbors, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman. And little further, India, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan , Syria, Lebanon.... that was just of neighbors.

Even when our football play in unfriendly countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE , they never mistreat , disrespect Iranian football or resort to monkey business of Canada. We played some WC game in Bahrain and ACL games in Saudi Arabia and UAE with no cancelation or disrespects.

*-Iran is not ultimate supporting terrorist nation , but US, Israail , British, France .... are .

* - In this latest episode Iran is not in fault but Canada is.
