Iran should have canceled the match, because of human rights violation of Canada, and their genocide against the indigenous people of Canada.

Iranian Canadian Congress statement on decision of Soccer Canada to cancel Canada-Iran Friendly Soccer match
The Iranian Canadian Congress is extremely disappointed with the decision announced earlier today by Canada Soccer to cancel the scheduled friendly match between Canadian and Iranian national soccer teams on June 5th, 2022.
As we stated in our earlier statement, we strongly believe that conflating politics with sports by politicians and interest groups contradicts the values espoused by Canada including peaceful coexistence, democracy, and friendship.
Thousands of Canadians and members of the Iranian Canadian community enthusiastically purchased their tickets in anticipation of this sold-out match. We believe that Canada Soccer owes an explanation to these fans about why this match was cancelled. We also condemn those who try to create an aggressive and divisive atmosphere in Iranian Canadian community, and encourage everyone to promote peace, friendship, and kindness since these are the core values of our community.
The Iranian Canadian Congress invites everyone to embrace the upcoming World Cup as an opportunity to promote peaceful coexistence and friendship. Together with millions of Canadian and Iranian soccer fans, we will cheer for the success of the Canadian and Iranian national soccer teams in all cities across Canada.

Hey Youngins, you're barking up the wrong tree. Anger at Canada, Canada soccer, Canadian Soccer players, Western hypocrisy, US, UN, American Capitalism, American Imperialism, Western Colonialism, Western Europe, Coca Cola, Ukraine, Zelinsky, Justin Trudeau, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Hamed Esmaelion, families of murdered airline passengers, members of PFDC, Masih's jad o abad--all are misdirected.
Democracy, human rights, etc are guideposts, not absolute laws, we all know that. But there are a set of rules all nations play by (minus 10 or so), and IR in its infinite wisdom has decided to flout the entire rulebook for the past 43 years. And the result is plain for everyone to see: people die on highways more than any other country in the world, one of the highest rates of airplane accidents, a passport that can't get you into any country, a money that is worth less than the paper its printed on, forced hijab, complete lack of freedom of press, complete lack of freedom of association, complete lack of freedom of religion......
And we are at a school dance, and everyone has paired up and no one wants to dance with a hezbolahie bikherad (the original Taliban) and you're surprised?
Those of us who have been here since you were children or before you were born have seen these friendlies come and go, and they are all 50/50 affairs whether they get press or not, so we shrug our shoulder, and as others have pointed out, for many of us who were born/raised in Iran, the fate of Iran is our main concern. We follow TM and love football, but Iran for us is a lot more than TM. For the past few days all we can think about is Abadan. And our anger is directed at the root of the evil: the Islamic Republic of Iranزن زندگی آزادی

I don't know how many MEK supporters are on this forum, but when my dad came from the war in the early 80s, he said he worked for them for 1 day before realizing the kind of pieces of shit that they are. He said the disdain and disgust in which they described poor Iranians was unbearable. Also, they spent most of the day fucking around and dedicated little time to their mission of lifting Iran. And when that time came, one of the people in the group asked "dar morede in paberahneha chikar konim?" as in "what are we going to do with these barefoots?" These are the type of people being backed by the West. These are the type of people Walrus mustache Piece of Shit John Bolton went and talked to.

I alone had planned for the following:
- 8 tickets to the match (over $1,500 USD)
- 3 nights in a Vancouver hotel (over $1,000 USD)
- booked restaurant reservations for all meals over 4 days ($1,200 USD; assuming $100 per meal for our group, which is a low estimate)
- merch, snacks, drinks at BC place ($$$)
- Any touristy stuff our group would have done in Vancouver (parks, gardens, whatever)
Literally thousands of dollars that would have gone to local businesses, restaurants, workers, organizers, etc, etc (including Iranian restaurants in Vancouver that folks here kindly had recommended to me)
Now scale that up for all the other local and out of own visitors.
WTF were they thinking??? Is Alinejad and her cabal worth that much? Does MEK really have that much worth to Canada? It's mind boggling.
On a serious note, the game would have raised at least $5M just in ticket sales. Then there is TV rights, And of course all the money we would have spent on local chelo-kababis.
What a stupid decision by that no-good dancing dummy. Make no mistake about it, he is the one who did this because someone or some group filled his pockets one way or the other.Sign this petition to show opposition to US/UK support for the Rajavi/MKO cult
