My pregnant aunt, her husband, 2 daughters were on this flight. The USA has not even come close to offering an apology and gave a paltry amount of money to the families. I was only 4 years old at the time, but my older brothers and cousins tell me about how much it effected my family. My uncle (aunts husband) was a physician in Iran at the time and this event ended his family lineage as he was an only son.
Its insane to me how this was completely swept under the rug as it was USAs fault.
I lost a family member on this flight as well. Family never spoke about it but it devastated my grandparents. Pennies for the loss was all they were awarded. USA awarded medals to the crew and captain for their heroism and alot of bs after that.
Banning Team Melli from the World cup does nothing to end IR. I have not heard a single positive argument about the effect of the action beside making people abroad think they are being relevant when their support and vocalization, Distribution of videosx and pressure to deport family members of mullahs is 100000x more effective than this charade.
The World cup is the biggest stage with eyes everywhere! At the very least 32 countries will see Team Melli and know their stories against the regime. Does no one remember when the MEK tried to disrupt the USA match? What is this anger about our football players? Our football players are athletes. They have no responsibility to be Martin Luther King or Gandhi yet they are risking themselves, their careers, their family members and some people abroad living comfortable in their homes are calling them names...for what? How Oghdeyi are you that just because you live abroad you want to take it out on Iranians in Iran by taking away one of their only joys in the last 43 years? And I'm one of you abroad.
Khak too sare een mellat ke hamash darde saro khodesh be khodesh miyare az hamoon jomhuriye eslami ta alan. Anyone speaking against IR right now in Iran is a soldier of the bravest order and braver than any Alinejad, Pahlavi, ***javi, or otherwise.
IR fears athletes and celebrities. That's why Khamenei even addressed it in his latest speech. The more they are in the spotlight, the better for the movement. The World Cup is the world's biggest center stage.
Marg Bar Dictator Khamenei and his IR.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh
Trying to tarnish Esmaelion and co by saying they teamed up with the MEK again? I posted about this before, where is your proof? Give it up. Just because MEK uses a Mahsa hashtag doesn't mean those in the streets support the MEK.
in charandiat ra khandam o hanooz dar entezaar harfe hagh.
Well for you and some others is charandiat, however for others is proof. Photos that shows people from certain groups and comments from other family members of PS752 killed is convincing.
I believe in democracy, you can think whatever you want. I am a free human being and make my own decisions, so I kindly ask other members to stop insults towards me and stop trying to impose their own views upon me.

Exhibit A: photo of Rajavi and Cotler in 2013
Exhibit B: photo of Cotler and Esmaeelion in 2022
Result: Guilty: Rajavi=Esmaeelion
I still don't see any proof, just the kind of connect the dots you see on seda-o-sima when they try to defame people.
Every time this thread pops up it brings back painful memories, I can't believe this match got cancelled.
I had so much stress the morning trying to buy tickets (it kept not letting me I think because I was in the US), I convinced 10 of my Canadian friends to come with me and my friend's mom actually had to buy the tickets lol. I bought flight tickets to Vancouver that day and began the countdown, but it was all for nothing.
It would've been such a cool experience to be there with my friends to see Iran vs Canada. I grew up in Canada and my Canadian friends all know about the Iranian team through me (they know Ali Karimi, Ali Daei, Azmoun, etc) & Iranian culture (they love ghormehsabzi and have celebrated Iranian new year). Sadly given how this went, I doubt this opportunity will ever come up again.

It’s a painful memory because I had a lot excitement for a unique experience that got cancelled and never went through. What’s confusing about it?
Just that painful memory, especially in the context of recent events, probably made me think of wife and daughter burning painfully to death in a plane on fire, rather than having a few pals not seeing a match of football however unique that experience might be - we are all obsessed with football and team melli but I find it hard to imagine how anything can be a painful experience compared to what is going on in Iran every day....
