let's hope so. The only problem is I won't be able to watch it in person! I will forever hate Canada for doing this

If Uruguay happens - better than both Canada and Ecuador.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Don't worry, regime stolen money will continue to prop up Vancouver, Toronto and the Canadian economy. They will say nothing about this and allow it to happen - gladly.

Zooresh beeh bazikonemoon merese. Cheap political points.

Iran will sue Canada, make millions, and those millions will go straight to the akhunds

The logic of these people who wanted the game cancelled genuinely shock me

Bingo. Thinking is not their forte. They like the sound of their own voice.

It's actually mind boggling... I can't believe it. These f*cking akhunds just keep getting stronger whilst our team melli that represents our PEOPLE gets weaker

Wouldn't be surprised to see IR giving a big chunk of the money they're about to get from Canada to Masih Alinejad for helping the game get cancelled.

Down with IR and those who are against the growth of our beloved Team Melli

Let's be honest it was wishful thinking Canada Soccer could get away paying IR $400k (yes IR, TM won't see a dime of that money) and not face huge backlash

Well, they may pay even more now for canceling the contract and any future IFF lawsuits, so....

The financial repercussions alone for all the fans, ticket refunds, Canada Soccer, BC Place, and the City of Vancouver are enormous. It's bewildering that a handful of vocal numb-skulls caused this much havoc.

Those alleged activist footballers that allegedly refused to play against Iran needed an excuse for keeping their kon goshad intact facing taremi, azmoun, arj, gholizadeh, allahyar etc.

Oman plays NZ on the 9th, but are free after that. Close to Iran, friendly relations and a chance for Branko to show that he is infact the better laboo salesman.
