I love Ukraine and have respect for their national football team. Who remembers their 2006 World Cup campaign? That team was pure gold. They lost to Italy in the quarter-finals but they had a great tournament.

As much as I respect Ukraine, I don't think it'll benefit Team Melli if Ukraine made it to the World Cup. They'll have millions of people backing them up. This group already has politics written all over it. I understand that players don't think about this type of stuff. Once the ref blows the whistle everyone is focused on the match. But the fact that i.r. supports Russia is not good. England, USA, Ukraine and Iran..

I hope Wales goes through and I think they can do it. Bale will be highly motivated to play at 1 World Cup before he retires.

Agree 100%. Shevchenko is one of my fav international players but if Ukraine join our group I can see the masses and more specifically neutrals in stadium supporting. The politics also would just add further distraction for the other teams. Praying for Wales...

They are gonna give it to Ukraine It is obvious. Ukraine has to be in the WC because of the Russian invasion. Possibly some sort of compensation to both Scotland and Wales has already been made. I would place a bet on this. It would probably restore a micro-mil trust in FIFA for me if Wales qualifies and not Ukraine.

Ukraine is a legit team. I remember their last world cup they went very far, that's the reason I don't want to see them in the WC. Not because people will have their back, but because they're the best team of the bunch (better than the Scotts or the Welsh) going to the WC. Also, the first goal was def not offside, but my question is, why did the Scottish keeper only extend his arms half way to stop that chip? It was almost like the players in the Scottish team WANTED Ukraine to win. They were very lackadaisical IMO.
