I dont care about the score and player ratings and who should have have played where, for me what stood out the most is lack of any game plan. Just a bunch of 11 trying to do whatever they can. No plan for defence no plan for midfield and certainly no plan for delivering balls to our forward so that theh can score. It is all by fluke and luck!! And I point my finger at one person and that is the coach. Friendly excuse my ass he had 2 weeks of amp and one expected to see at least a game plan. Nothing nada .. zilch! This skocic guy got to be fired before it is too late. He is not the right choice!!!

I have never seen Taremi that mad before in my life.
Near the end, there was a free kick for Algeria , and Mehdi kept telling Noorafkan to move closer to him, so he can move a bit further to his left. Omid kept ignoring him and what do you know? The shot went to the left of Mehdi and he had to make a risky interception.
When the ball went out Mehdi just went off for couple of seconds.I legit thought he was going to smack Omid.
But yea overall same shit as our qualifying round, except when uou play against real football teams instead of mid tier Asian teams in chaos (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon), that's just not good enough.
Can't handle a mild press. Midfield can't get the ball to the forwards. Forwards can't press.
Noorafkan is a defensive liability.
Abedzadeh needs to get out of his own head.
Hosseini was solid.
Jahanbakhsh wasted too many counters with inaccurate passes. Although, nice on him getting open for the goal, and his defensive effort.
Sardar ???
Ezzatolahi still thinks he's rugby player, and waaay to easily beat by fast players. Couple of nice long passes and defensive save.
Ebrahimi decent considering its his first match with these guys in a long time.
Nouroullahi was all energy, no talent.
Allahyar wasted in the bench.
Gholizadeh looked like he sipped on some lean before the match. Low energy af.
Aref was not bad at all. Much rather him as 4th-5th CB option than Noorafkan.
Sarlak, better than Nouroullahi.
Skocic... I don't want to be banned.Last edited by The; 06-13-2022, 03:55 AM.

The run up to this friendly and the game itself have not been good enough. The training sessions don’t look as if they have been fruitful, players looking unsure on the pitch of themselves and tactics. We can blame the heat but the IFF and probably Skocic made the choice to have a camp in Qatar and play a game there. We did not learn much new from tonight apart from which we already knew.
We have less than 6 months to get our act together and that looks very unlikely. Prove me wrong TM.

Of course there will be a different reaction from the players.

This is the worst match I have seen in a while. Abedzadeh reminded me of Mirzapour. The defence reminded me of playing PES, difficulty level 1/5. There have been numerous situations where 4 surrounding defenders would just stand there and play with their doodools, while the Algerian striker would basically walk through them. I could not believe my eyes! Not even in Germany's league 3 you would see such poor and careless defending. Were the players on tranquilizers or what? 2 fatals mistakes, that led to 2 goals. Something we would rarely see under CQ, as he would make sure, whoever makes a repeated mistake gets subbed or a round of Shalagh. Under Queiroz, players like Gholizadeh would have been sent to the toughest gulag in Siberia. Does Skokic have any authority at all?? I know PFDC has always been full of optimists and dreamers when it comes to TM, but do you seriously believe that with this game "plan" we will even get 1 point out of that group? Something has to be done if we want to avoid a disaster at the WC. I just hurts my heart to see how CQs empire, that he built over the years, is not far from falling apart.

He took too many shots for me to count, but none of them went in. He does not have the accuracy and precision we need for a striker in tm and is also not playing well constantly. He plays well against bottom-feeder teams, but when faced with more vigorous opponents, he cant help us. I am sorry guys, IMHO, but he is just an awful tm player! I am serious I can't be the only one that sees that on the pitch!

I'm going to remind people we had the same criticisms and discussions when our National team played a bunch of S. African clubs and was unable to beat Orlando Pirate reserves...we thought then CQ and IFF wanted to keep their Fifa ranking in tact because of fears of losing. People called for CQ to be fired at that time. We seem to go through these cycles alot.

Anyway I am more interested in the conversations we were having in 2006 on this forum. Now that is a real cycle.

I remember before WC 2018 in the friendly against Turkey, we lost 2-1 to two really bad goals courtesy of Roozbeh Cheshmi (was not a fan, but CQ liked him). This was against CQ where defense comes first. Defense splitting passes regularly carved up our back line in that game.
I’m happy Algeria came to play motivated, pressed us very well, and did not make it easy for us. Both of their goals came off of defensive errors. Our goal came again, courtesy of ARJ, who is consistently proving himself to be a valuable member of the team, in spite of not being in club form. One goal here or there, makes the world of a difference in WC2022, and ARJ is scoring or assisting in almost every other international game for us.
Just like how our losses to Tunisia and Turkey before WC2018, were excellent teaching lessons for CQ to makes proper adjustments against our opener against Morocco, there MUST be more friendlies to help us. THEN, Skocic must make the proper adjustments. Or else, yes, it will be a repeat of our WC2006 performance.
But, Skocic’s gameplan was clear: no bezan ziresh tactics, be patient with build up play from the back. Hence, why so many sideway passes to the middle. However, against a good opponent like Algeria, who pressed us well, this is easier said than done. You need the proper spacing, with players who possess the skill and touch to play those deft posession based passes.
Noorafkhan should not play CB in the future, and Ghoddos’ clever passing and touch were sorely missed in many instances when our players needed someone to get them out of trouble.
Our team does play better when it’s not in posession, and wins the ball in the opponent’s half. This is a problem that has plagued TM many years, even during CQ’s era when facing good high pressing opponents.
I hope the coaching staff fully dissects this game, as well as future games, so we’re honed and ready in November.
Oh yea if it is a friendly game then maybe he should start and test players that have not played that much not the same old ;
Alipour Ayllahar
Mohebi Hosseinzadeh mehdipour. Torabi
Aref aghasi Majid hosseni. Abolfazl jalili Armin Sohrabian

This was the teams first match in how long? In Qatar heat after 2 weeks of training. Others including Algeria have had more match practice than us. Even so we all wanted to see more.i don't blame Skocic for this loss any more I do the players. It wasn't the best but better get exposed now and fix things. We all saw Abedzadeh and a few other players really look like they should not start.
I'm glad this happened now. We needed it. England and Wales are experiencing similar things too...look at English media saying without Kane they have no attack. Southgate is one dimensional etc etc.
