I thought Adel did a nice job...he made some noise during the movement and braver than most. At the beginning he expresses the sentiments of where we are well. He also brings up some of the issues well given the limitations he faces.

He could have said something like this:

Of the 85 million Iranians, how many who are living in Iran came out on the street or made a public statement using their own names? The truth is that the vast majority of people did not do something substantial because they live with concerns about consequences. Those consequences are multiplied for public figures. Our minders made those consequences distinctly clear to us during the World cup... especially after we showed our resolve by our silence during the national anthem. The people may have been disappointed by us and we are sorry we couldn't live up to their expectations on and off the field. We could have conducted ourselves better but we faced tremendous pressures that are not known. We have to live with the knowledge that some of our fans celebrated our loss. But our fans are not aware of what we faced. Some former footballers criticised us heavily but how many of them came out and discussed the injustices of our society when they themselves were playing football. We understand a bad taste was left in your mouth but please leave your final judgment until the day when the Truths come out.
