And how do you assume he can just stroll back into Porto after such a move, and (presumably) after a couple of years, where he has not proven himself? At the age of 32? Are you even thinking about this with a straight head? Do you really think Porto will just take him back, considering he probably won't be the same player who left Porto?
    This!
As for the bolded part: *cough* Jahanbakhsh ??!!?
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Taremi is no where near JB quality and potential.

When you play for a top EPL club, don't worry lot of decent teams will be after you even if you fail. If you stagnate or start to drop in quality at porto, nobody will be there to rescue him.

Bro please, JB was rocking Eredivise at the age of 25 Season 2018/2019 with a Value of 18 Mio EUR at the same time Taremi was chiling his balls for Al Gharafa with a value of 2 (!) Mio EUR.
Then the Brighton move came and killed his Mojo completely.
The Same or even worse will happen to Taremi. In no way any decent team will come to rescue Taremi at the age of 32/33 after failing.
Let him stagnate or drop in quality first then we can talk about his rescue.

If the Brighton Move didn't happen, i am pretty sure JB would be very close to Taremi quality and potential wise.

I never saw quality on JB, even at AZ he mostly scored against bottom clubs of a weak league. Except once or twice, he always disappeared against Ajax, PSV or in league europa.
He was over performing in a weak league for one season and flopped like many eredivisie exports. Don't need to extrapolate this experience for every Iranian, specially for Taremi which is a different machine.

The lack of ambition and fear of risk is what is killing Iran football. If Taremi didn't waste valuable seasons at Al gharafa, we would even consider Porto as an insult today

Porto is playing against Gil Vicente tomorrow in a cup game. What are your thoughts? Will Mehdi start the game?

                  You can't be serious.

I guess it depends on what your definition of "fail", means. If he becomes a 60th minute sub, and contributes around 10 goals+assists/year, and then gets dismissed from the club after a couple of years? No one is coming to rescue him at age 32, unless it's a weak Arab league team. I can't even definitely say "strong" Arab team, because they are improving in leaps and bounds by throwing money at good players, who decide to go over there at younger and younger ages.

You, and others here act like being a force of nature in the Portuguese Liga is something bad. You all are just nuts! He's ruling that league, and also using it as a springboard to score goals and assists in the UEFA CHAMPION'S LEAGUE!

Why in the hell would anyone risk that if they are not comfortable with it? If Taremi wants to try in the EPL for the twilight of his career? More power to him. But if he doesn't we should all recognize his greatness, and not try to tear him down, like too many Iranian fans. In this way, we are so shameful!

And yet you throw one of our best and most ambitious players ever under the bus, and lump him into this category.

Get out of here with that nonsense! You're not his parent, and we are not talking about becoming a doctor, engineer, or lawyer, here. The obstacles for most Iranian players to make it as far as Mehdi has, are numerous. Most European players don't have those problems. Just stop already..

Manchester United is willing to pay the 75M release clause for Diogo Costa.

SC has already said Mehdi (and Otavio) will be starting. SC wants to win the Cup. It will be in Dragao...should be a great match.

Completly washed up Alexis Sanchez or Mkhitarian got numerous good transfers after being completely washed up : Arsenal, MU, Inter, Marseille/Roma..
Once you enter one league specially in the top club, other clubs of this league will always look to you. Of course if you break your leg and don't play 1 min, that will be different.

Days of being finished after 30 years is over. Benzema hit his prime at 35, Messi just won a world cup and CR7 was breaking record at 37. Not saying Taremi is among them but taremi can offer 3 4 years to high level. Clubs know it.

His father went to TV and was literally crying about how he regrets having prevented him to join Europe earlier. Chi migi?
The world best national teams have players from Porto style club as squad/rotation players. We should be satisfied with that for our best player?

Most of our players end with regrets about snubing Europe at the end of their career (from Jalal Hosseini, Taremi, PAG, AK...) and people get mad at CQ that couldn't qualify a squad of 24 clowns against teams with players playing in the top league.

For every one Sanchez, there are a 100 who simply disappear. And furthermore, how is Sanchez "Washed Up"?! These are his stats for the past few years:
                              Inter Milan 57 (12)
                              Marseille 12 (5)

This is Mkhytarian since 2016, and he is not "washed up", either:
                              Manchester United 39 (5)
                              Arsenal 39 (8)
                              Roma (loan) 22 (9)
                              Roma 65 (18)
                              Inter Milan 12 (1)

He may offer high level play for 3-4 years, or he may go from being a star for his top European team that plays in one of the top 6 leagues in that region, to being a sub whose production plummets. And again, he may lose his productivity in the UCL, which is probably more important than his form in the domestic league.

And yes, his father made the mistake. That's not the point; it's not up to people like you, who so desperately want to live vicariously and also be unrealistically critical, to berate him. He is doing well. Better than you, most likely, in whatever profession you ply your trade. Cut it out.

You use absurd, self-centered rhetoric such as "WE should be satisfied".. please, don't use those qualifiers. Again, you are not his dad, and what he has done is simply fantastic. Instead of acknowledging that, you are being the typical over-critical "parent". Get real.

If he wasn't playing for TM I would have agreed with you. But as he represents TM, every TM fans has the right to criticize and wish him what we think is the best for him.
According to your reasoning, I guess Azmoun should have stayed at Zenit for ever?

His production can also suddenly fall at porto too. Mahdavikia stayed at HSV most in his career, was thrown out like a shit from there and never become more than a good Bundesliga player most of the world don't remember
