"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

15 mil is still too low….you guys should be mad at AC Milan not Porto, they are nickel and diming so hard. 20 million for them is peanuts, they can get the deal done whenever they stop with the geda bazi!Team Meli Iran

20 mil still a lot for a 30+ yo on his last year of contract..!
Especially an eyeranian who’s just not a very marketable & excitable to their fan-base acquisition.
however looking at it purely from Performance & Footballing perspective then yes his rather consistently impressive performances & production rate easily justifies 20 mil plus ..!
but then again if I recall ACM tried to capture him last summer too when Porto’s demands were 25 mil & if I recall Ac went as high as 15 then too & gave up when Porto play hardball in negotiations..!
Unless usurped by a hasty last minute 20 mil offer from MU or Inter, don’t think Porto can reasonably expect to squeeze anymore than 15-17 mil (plus performance bonuses)from ACM for Mehdi who’s all but already a goner from Porto, especially having already agreed personal terms & sar be havayee shodanesh …!

"By the values that are spoken, it makes sense to keep Taremi, he is the best striker in FC Porto"
Domingos Paciência argues that FC Porto is right to keep Taremi in the team, unless a proposal with higher values comes up.
Mehdi Taremi is the best striker at FC Porto and, therefore, it makes sense to keep him in the squad, even knowing that his contract expires in June 2024. This, of course, unless proposals arrive for amounts greater than the 15 million euros he already mentioned in the press. This is the opinion of coach Domingos Paciência, who was also a player for the dragons.
"Based on the values being discussed, it makes sense to keep Taremi, even because, within the squad, he is the striker who has the best performance, more goals and more assists. He is the best striker that FC Porto has. Of course, 15 million euros is a lot of money, depending on age, but it is also true that there is a sporting return", he said in statements to "Bola Branca", from Rádio Renascença.
And Fran Navarro, hired this season, has qualities, but he is not a substitute for the Iranian, in the opinion of Domingos Paciência. "Fran Navarro can give what some could not. The issue of mobility and being a more agile athlete in finishing zones. It is natural that Sérgio Conceição saw these qualities, in order to be able to offer him other solutions in the game."

What's happening with this deal is what sly agents do now. Have the player meet the interest party, negotiate a bloated contract with a better salary and hefty signing on fee (and agent fee), let it play out in public and put pressure on the selling club to take a cut price because the buying club has spunked some of the transfer funds on a bigger contract that benefits the player and agent more than the existing contract at the current club... you then have player unrest which they agent and the buying club hope to use as leverage for the selling club to cave to a lower offer.
If Porto have the balls and see greater value in another season with Taremi than 15m upfront, they will hold out for more or let his contract run out. They own his contract. He signed that contract. They don't owe him a move for more money in a deal that disadvantages them.
You should direct your frustration at AC Milan and his agent if this move doesn't happen, not Porto.

That's criminally low. You have Bench warmers in bottom half EPL making more than that.
Also the Premier League has more money than any other leagues, that's why players move from top European clubs to bottom table teams.
If United's interest is genuine and he moved there, he'd probably earn more than 3m a year. Phil Jones was earning £3.9m a year until a few weeks ago.

There would be 13 players in Milan making more than him.
