To be fair, CQ and the staff didn't have enough time (or friendlies) to implement much of anything with confidence. That being said, IMO, they should have gone with the most "vanilla" formation and tactics known to football: the 4-4-2. Against England, it really didn't matter who started at most positions.
Article says we never attempted 5 back before. Not even during Senegal game and Uruguay...two chances to try it. Not like CQ didn't know England was our opponent right? So why wait till WC match to experiment?

Time...well all those who cried foul on Taj should be kissed and appreciated since they said this exact thing but so called PFDC Oracles and CQ apologists said this is CQ team. He only needs 5 minutes with them lolol

Logic is being crippled by CQoolaide.

I know what the article said.
The point is that it didn't relay what you said it relayed; you said it stated they never practiced it.

Regardless, it doesn't matter at this point. And all I see from you is snarkiness and disdain for CQ. Okay.. everyone gets it. \

However, what I haven't seen from you (or anyone else who spews such vitriol, for that matter) is what you would do differently? Specifics.. not the generic "run a 4-4-2 and be more aggressive" rhetoric.

If all you see is vitriol then you are biased. What I would do differently is get fresh ideas in. No more CQ. Coaching jobs need to be earned. We hired CQ to be a coach...to win. He hasn't done it. All the other stuff biased folks like you argue are bonuses. Cq discovered players, set up this or that...who cares? His primary job is to win. His salary is to deliver results. How he does that is up to him...but he clearly has no results to speak of. Are we smarter more competent federation than the likes of Egypt or Colombia? How come we keep giving him chance after chance while no one else does?

Also yes, you had 2 matches to practice back 5. De Sa said they didn't do it and we all saw they didn't. Imagine any other profession at a critical moment you decide some new strategy...give it up with the CQ blind adoration. If I'm wrong Salah is wrong. If I am wrong Ronaldo is wrong. If I am wrong every FA cq has been at is wrong. Give it up! Vitriol my a$$. Like typical of a blind CQ supporters to attack his detractors. Surprised you aren't calling me bademjam or some other bs...biases biases biases. I mean now claims are made before CQ we never advanced out of AC group. All lies. In fact every AC but one since 1992 we were group winners. We had football before CQ and God willing we will have better days once this fraud is gone!

More importantly what we haven't seen from you or CQ faithful like yourself is one credible reason this guy has earned the privilege to continue as TM coach. No tangible results on the pitch which we have paid him millions for.

Forget that...just tell me why CQ was only coach to take 4 gk and leave a roster spot empty at Qatar 22? He must be smarter than 31 other coaches right? Lol fraud!

But this is what I mean! You can't just throw every insult at the man, ignore the good things, expect perfection (which is ridiculous considering what he has to work with), and then say: "Just WIN because we pay you!" C'mon man, use your critical thinking ability; no coach is perfect, even with the best players. I follow City, and I like Pep. Pep has screwed up so many times, but fans only know that in hindsight.

I don't know who is making excuses concerning the AC. It's not me, and don't bring it up in a conversation with me. Keep it relevant.

You keep bringing up peripheral reasons as to why he shouldn't be manager, and ignore all the great things he has done for team. For me, he made TM more professional, accountable on the field, and disciplined. That is tangible.I don't know how you can argue against it. Furthermore, he has brought the team to a state where we have a legitimate chance of getting a result against good footballing nations (e.g. Uruguay, who you so graciously keep mentioning). For me, that has not been the case with previous managers, or at least the chance of beating a big side was far less.

Btw, your absurd excuses of him with Egypt are getting tired. They make you look stupid. Egypt missed winning AFCON and qualifying for the WC in penalties against Senegal. Senegal is no joke. You make it sound like Egypt lost to a HS team.

And you know who missed a PK in that match. MO SALAH. So please, shutup about it already.

Furthermore, you know who wanted CQ to manage Egypt? Once again.. MO SALAH. (Please ask me for a source, so I can shut you up, again)

You know why MO SALAH didn't like CQ? Because CQ didn't include a player Salah wanted on the pitch. It's that simple, and that laughable. I like Salah, but he turns into a diva off the field.

Egypt isn't that great of a football power, and in context of CAF, they did well under CQ. They missed winning AFCON in PKs, and also missed-out on qualifying for the WC in PKs, both to Senegal. For me, that's not some catastrophic failure. Quite frankly, Team Melli is better than Egypt, at the moment.

And finally: who would you bring in, and what tactics should that coach employ? Furthermore, who should be called-up? I asked you this (in so many words), before, and you failed to answer. If you don't give something reasonable outside of the Homer Simpson response of frothing at the mouth like a fool: "DUR-HUR! COACH SHOULD WIN! DUR-HUR *SLOBBER SLOBBER* WE PAY DA COACH", then I'm just going to assume you're a hater, with little-to-no brains.

Well thank you for proving my point. I provided a long list of examples you selected ones you felt helped your case.

If I sound stupid you sound idiotic. Not asking for perfection, but also don't want the worst...so tell me again...

Why CQ was the only coach of 32 to leave a roster spot empty and take 4 gk to the WC? What's the logic here? No other nation did this...

You can't justify crazy, outdated, and rogue tactics. A criminal finds God in jail...does that mean he should go unpunished? We didn't hire CQ just to be disciplined and professional. Just like you wouldn't hire someone to paint your house only based on his discipline and professionalism. You would actually want to see the outcome of his work would you not? You ignore his own assistant calling his strategy out. How Taj has apologized while Cq all of a sudden has gone MIA and Twitter silent...

We hired CQ to lead TM...to win with TM...primary objective of a NT coach. Not to be political leader, player agent, or builder of acadamies. Those are side responsibilities at best. You are very biased. Unobjective...I don't blame you. Being shoved CQ for all these years have left many of us fans thinking only CQ knows football...we are just his minions.

But we the true TM fans are here. We are awake. We extend a hand to those addicted to CQoolaid. We want to help you. Bring you to the light and free you from the chains of CQoolaid. When the time is right and when you admit you have a problem we are ready to help all of those hopped up on CQoolaid find salvation!

Last I checked this was a thread about Hosseini and Karimi not about CQ. Why not take discussing QCs faults and merits to a different thread where those who are interested can follow the verbal post-mortem about all things QC.

France also left an empty spot in his squad and only took CB (no real LB or RB), Deschamps played as LB and RB.

I don't know other NT but I am sure most WC coach had controversial decisions in their squad too.

France left the spot for Benzema in hopes he could be match fit, but ultimately he left the camp after deemed not fit by staff. While CQ played relied on a not match fit Sardar who was gassed by min 20 most times.

Not much to update. Other than many of us are concerned how both these players as well as other NT players will be destroyed by CQ.

When benzema get injured and left the camp, France had 2 days to call a replacement and fill the spot. They chose to keep the empty spot

As you can see Deschamps refused to answer whether Benzema will play in final as the hope was to have him back in squad at some point

Also France went to the final. Their list of injured players could have won the WC alone. Iran after Azmoun and Taremi had Ansarifsrd as attacking options while guys like Alipour and Zahedi sat at home.

Both subbed out at half. They lost 4-2.

They're up 3-1 in the 56' minute. Majid scored the first goal from a header off a CK. Majid has scored a decent amount this season (especially for a CB). Karimi on the bench.
