Dont think all this would have happened if he was a bit more in action.
Anyway I agree the poor guy deserves respect even though I want CQ in.
I would gladly had him as Asia Cup coach
Baeed nist, a lot of two faced actions going around behind the curtains in the federation. Apparently some witchery as well lol.

Imagine Sardar and Mehdi stirring a big pot and chanting “Ajeeee majeeee laaa tarajeeee!”

A few very active sites are behind this. I think they are testing their clout. So far, they have managed to wreak havoc in our football. Let's see if TM can recover from this.

After this fiasco with half of TM wanting change? He cant stay any longer, doesn't matter who replaces him but his position as the coach has been irreparably damaged. He has to go.

A few hours ago, I spoke with a cousin of mine in Tehran, who said that there are ongoing negotiations with Queiroz and that there's a high probablity he'll take the helms by the end of next week. He also stated that Queiroz' popularity in the country is astronomically high, perhaps the highest it's ever been, partly because of the recent setbacks in planning and preparation. (High probability, of course, does not mean absolute certainty. IFF could well decide to retain the current coach.)

I also read Azizi's statement and found it quite troubling. Azizi is one of Iran's football legends. He was instrumental in helping the national team qualify for France 98, and he has never failed to dazzle the fans with his unique brand of creative showmanship on the field. But, as evinced in this interview, that's where his talents end.

Azizi's words seem to throw more fuel on the fire as he's chosen to trivialize the players' worries--even the concerns of the most prominent members--by suggesting that they better shut up and do as they're told. Could you imagine asking a class of 30 students to quitely put up with a highly unpopular teacher in order to project a semblance of unity across a school? Furthermore, he tries to justify retaining the coach by stressing the need for upholding a sense of loyalty towards him. I must say that is woefully narrow-minded.

In life we swear loyalty to loved ones, to our country or our mentors and proteges, simply because of the sense of accountability we feel in ensuring their and our well being, success or preservation. Teachers and students, as well as players and coaches, are mutually responsible for demonstrating, and maintaining, loyalty towards one another if they believe in and respect each other. Oftentimes, a collective sense of justice and fairness spurs individuals into defending someone they consider worthy of respect because of that person's exemplary performance or selfless and benevolent actions.

But what exactly requires a federation or owners of a particular sports team to show loyalty to a coach? The team management's first and foremost priority is the success of the entity it's been entrusted with. Members of the federation or a team's owners should act ethically in using the media in relation to their interactions with the coach they've hired;they have an ethical and legal responsibilty to ensure that the individual gets financially rewarded; they should also handle his firing (should it come to that) in a professional and responsible manner. But suggesting that the federation retain an ineffective coach simply because it's honor-bound to do so is prepostrous and naive. The federation has a responsibility to treat its players and coaching staff with dignity and respect;its ultimate loyalty, however, is solely reserved for the fans and the country it is obliged to serve without limitation.

As for Azmoun, I haven't read his post, but I can speculate that he is supporting the status quo (if he's indeed doing so) because of the following reasons:

First, in Russia under Queiroz, his role was well-defined and it involved a great deal of defensive maneuvering. There, he was somewhat boxed in, as he had to play within a very tight sytem. With Skocic, he's extricated from those restrictions;he can play a free-flowing brand of football and has more leeway to be offensively creative. I assume that style is his preferance.

Second, he and Skocic possibly have very good rapport, not least because they both speak Russian (I asssume Skocic speaks Russian, too). I have seen some team pictures and they seem to bond well together. But Azmoun needs to put those considerations aside and first think about the team and the country's collective success.

As for Queiroz, let me finally say that, at this juncture, hiring him would be a win-win proposition. I know he has his detractors both inside and outside the country. But he's a world-class coach with a ton of expertise and experience, especially at a high level. Considering that we'll be facing teams with impeccable skill levels, talent, drive and organization, not to mention unlimited financial resources, his presence as team manager would be a godsend. He knows Iranian football and the players well; he's a marvelous tactician and, above all else, he can inject some badly-needed decipline into the structure, fostering unity among team members and helping the fans and the federation rally around them. Let's not forget that Queiroz could have signed to coach Egypt for millions of dollars but ultimately refused. If he opts to sign with Iran, he will certainly be doing it for the sense of love he has for, and affinity he feels with, Iranians and the team representing them. He won't be doing it for the money.

Skocic, for his part, has done wonders, but it's not a secret that, notwithstanding the bad hand he's been dealt, he has failed to bring an end to this campaign of rumor-mongering and divisiveness to motivate the players in striving to reach the ultimate goal. In 2014 and 2018, Queiroz faced the same obstacles, but he somehow managed to pull the team together and gain the players' trust and respect. His appointment may help instill the same qualities in our team. At this late stage, no one can wave a magic wand and Queiroz, too, may fail to reach the knock-out stage. But he can build some unity and motivate the players to take on immense challenges ahead-just as they did in 2014 and 2018.

If this happens, then Iran is going to see a baby boom spike in nine months time.
