Skocic failed. Thats the truth. Even before enterring discussion about tactics, team performance, etc. He wasnt able to convince the entirety of the team, and multiple key players, including our BEST player, about his ability to lead the team into the WC. If he had managed to do that, he would still be the coach.

My guy wants to go to the World cup... Not try and build Iraq from scratch. 0% chance he takes the Iraq job.

It still doesn’t sit well with me. Your job as a player is not to 2nd guess your coach and stab him in the back.
You need to commit to his tactics and execute in the field.
Even before World Cup 2018 Croatians were doing the same to their own head coach, yet he got them to the final.
I am still upset the players didn’t dare do anything like this when dirtbag wilmots was going to f*** the whole team over.

It’s made me lose respect for our players quire frankly. I expect them to deliver now incredibly. No sympathy anymore.
TM’s success will make me very happy, I just hope the players and IFF and all those who pushed for this accept the consequences as well.

He did lose the team and I agree that’s a massive red flag. I’m more upset it got to this point.

But what if the key players do not want to cooperate with him for whatever reason? Then you can not continue with the coach, it is that easy.

That’s where skocic was weak. He should have removed such dissenters in advance. Unfortunately it’s clear he wasn’t a good leader or simply Too naive.

Politics of football especially in Iran is a poisoned chalice. He removes half the team and he is gone, he doesn’t remove half the team and he is gone.
Unfortunately when the dissenters are half your national team (potentially at least) and include all three of your captains then there is no way of coming back.

remove taremi, ARJ, Majid, Hajsafi, Abedzadeh, etc ? Good luck.

These players are normally low hashieh, something must have gone pretty wrong for them to flip to the other side.

Rather than remove, he should have convinced, through his coaching and man management skills. The reality is he lacked both, and that, above all other reasons, is why he wont be on a world cup bench in november. The longer the players spent time with him, the more obvious it became.

Instead he comes out blasting "young players" in his latest interview. I can tell you that certainly didnt endear him to the likes of Allahyar, Hosseinzadeh, etc.

This guy dug his own grave. No use defending or feeling bad for him. I honestly tried to give him benefit of doubt after we qualified but he fucked it up big time

Young players need to grow a spine if that comment offended them.

As I said even if you have to remove your best to do it to maintain unity you will do it.
Branko should have kicked karimi and Daei out in 06. Cq rightfully kicked aghili and rahmati out. Skocic would have kicked out JB and Taremi if he had the guts.

So then he not only lacked the credentials, the man management skills, the tactical level, the unifying presence, he ALSO lacked guts.

Remind me what part of what your describing is the best choice to lead a national team into the most important 3 games of their life?

Its ok to admit and stop blaming everybody else. Skocic f'ed up.

He focused too much on unity and ignored the mafia bazi. Unfortunately it had a backward effect as he became a sheep among Wolves. He was the calm we will miss come WC time when every player is on social media half wearing merooj another half where daie and uhlsport complaining of this and that. Nothing will change and it never did under CQ either. We just had more consistency with CQ via 8 years of same iff crap.

The reality Nokhodi jan is that we have a bunch of morons with the brain of 12 year olds emotional as fuck and unable to stand firm by logic and ration. All those idiots running our football federation and other departments are just a bunch of total idiots who are in their position because of being a yes man! Who do they say yes to? They say yes to other morons with emotional intelligence of 10 year olds yes men! This is a vicious circle we are in. It keeps happening every time. Idiots are unable to ignore bunch of childish behaviour like yalah yalah ma kirroosh mikham yaklah or childish behaviour of some players. It happens every time asson as a player gets a status of a star they start demanding to change the coach because the coach does not give a fuck if they are superstars. We have seen it with Karimi, Azizi, and all the others and now Taremi!!!

Thank you Dragan, you took the job nobody wanted, and saved us from further embarrassment by the hands of Wilmots. He ultimately maxed out in terms of his capability to make TM strong enough to play in the WC. He was a bit unfairly was sacked, but I think everyone should be holding their breath before celebrating, because we are assuming that Carlos will come back.

If we end up with a local coach, we are more fucked than where we started...

This has to be the biggest shitshow I have seen in a long time from our football

Not true. This comparison is not fair, and a bit ridiculous. So Iranian of you to exaggerate to this degree. Us losing to Iraq, is more like Germany losing to the likes of Sweden, Greece or Austria.
