He gave us a reason to sit on the edge of the seat and feel excitement. We had a fighting chance to not just tie but maybe even win against the runner up of the WC in 2014. He had everyone shook and against he gave us hope right down to the last second of that 2018 world cup. No one has ever given us that. I'm used to us getting eliminated at the hands of Bahrain and shit most years we try to qualify. He put Asia on notice and made bigger teams question why it was so difficult to beat us. That was enjoyable for once, we haven't had that at any point before or after him. You say you're ungrateful but your perspective says otherwise. I don't doubt we can find another coach to do it again, but this talent pool isn't the best and if you think we can find a better coach in this span of time before a world cup you're delusional, if you think we need to play more attacking football, you definitely don't know the sport or again are delusional about how talented you think this team is. So he gave you hope? Great. Was the record for lowest possession in 2 WC in a row that inspiring? 98 team gave hope. Winning that match against USA and taking on one of the strongest Balkan teams to ever reach a WC. Recall Mihalovic had stated we will put 7 or 8 in Iran's net. Even Germany match was impressive with that squad.

Hope is always there if you are a fan of TM. Yes CQ did some good but 8 years if all you can say is we narrowly lost or held the fort down for 93 min but lost or won on a last gasp OG...then you are focused on individual moments rather than the totality. Individual moments don't win crap...a complete performance does. You cannot win matches without the ball. You cannot set the lowest possession records to WC in a row and rely on a single moment. Maybe in Asia it works...not at the WC. CQ was great. First 4 or 5 years we needed him. His discipline. But the last 3-4 he overstayed and maid bank as one of the highest paid WC coaches.

I'm glad fans are starting to realize with this incompetent IFF don't matter if Cq comes back. He can't and won't be able to do more than Skocic. Skocic was in a prime spot to prove naysayers and he was robbed of an opportunity as the media and some fans went on a personal attack. What team or federation fires a guy with Skocic record...absolutely astonishing.

That small “own goal victory over Morocco” is the second match we’ve ever won in the WC. Ultimately it’s the result that matters. We also got 4 points in the group of death and had Taremi scored last minute we would’ve topped the group of death. All of this also after we qualified for consecutive world cups for the first time in our history ...

There have been 52 WC matches with own goals in World Cup history...37 of those matches were won by the opposing team. I guess they all don't count either. smh

No they all count. Question...how many were won last minute and 1-0? I'd be curious to know. Your link doesn't describe that. Also how many og games won with less than 30% possession in match. I suspect less than we can count on 1 hand. But I don't know tbh.

Ey baba, the game was won. How many times has italy won with 30% possession, so what? Possession means zulch if team cant score. Even with an own goal the wining team gets 3 points same as wining 5 nil.

Wasnt in the spain game goal was scored against us with a diverted kick off the iranian defended? Have we cried and said that doesnt count? At the end of the day spain won that game.
