The man's vocabulary literally revolves around "we", "team", "fans". There is no "I" with him. You think he spoke against Skocic for selfish reasons, or because he has an ego? The man is doing his duty as a team leader to warn us and everyone who loves TM that the ship is heading toward disaster...and you all want to drop the man. smh.
Okay...but how does Skocic deal with him? We can't expect Skocic to quit himself and IFF has kept him....and in all likelihood will keep him.

Why dont you address this conflict?

And BTW, when Taremi posts love letters to our great Rahbar on social media or is buddy buddy with the son of our current deputy president, don't you think that he has some "me" rather than "us" in him?

To address the Skocic conflict: Dragan needs to resign. His problems are larger than just Taremi. He does not have the confidence of all of TM, all of the fans, or all of IFF (including the technical committee). It's the honorable thing to do.

To answer your last questions: I didn't realize we now have a political litmus test for TM inclusion.

Expecting the Honorable action is valid but unlikely... very few coaches come out and say I've lost the confidence of my team so I am leaving. That action/admission will also negatively affect his future job prospects. In all probability either he is pushed out or he is kept...

There is no political litmus test and there should never be. However, arguing selfless devotion based on a bunch of cliche phrases that practically every football player mindlessly spews from memory is very weak. His actions, including objection to Skocic, betray selfishness and a strong ego. Character flaws/ traits are also not a barrier to TM so long as they don't detract from the team.

I expected so much more from his time in TM. Sadly it got cut short and his big injury really impacted his playing style. He was no longer able to be a speedy winger or take long range shots. We also missed out on a few years of him being part of the team, I think while he was considering Germany / focused more on his club. That first game when he played against Qatar was unforgettable. You could see how much better he was than every other player.

I am sad we didn't get to see him play much / at his peak . He also made some poor club choices too...

No one disputes his being good player and no one wants him to be excluded from TM.
            But to
Just to answer that particular statement in bold.
Taremi does not dare to say anything other than "we", "team" in porto. He knows he would be benched in no time! SC has options to replace him.
It is all about how much one is allowed to speak his mind.
IN Iran he FEELS he can say whatever he wants because
He thinks ("I know I am good" as in his interview with Ferdos) he can't be replaced and because he does not respect and value our system.
It is ego because he feels he is too good and too important.

To those of you who think this thread should be closed... the very question posed in this poll is quite topical in Iran.

Here is a quote from Rahman Rezaie (who BTW says current situation is much worse that WC2006):

Regarding putting aside the dissenters, he says: It is Skocic's decision. Surely he will need good counsel from his assistants and other members of the technical cadre so that no new damage befalls TM.

                https://www.tasnimnews.com/fa/news/1...A8%D9%88%D8%AF

Former TM player and current Astara couch, Pirooz Ghorbani says: Taremi is an important player but he and other players should now their position and limits. TM has helped Taremi reach his current status. While one can criticize Skocic's technical and managing decisions, qustioning his strength of character (Eghtedar) is not right. How things have happened raised the suspicion that the order to change the TM manager has come from elsewhere.

All in All we are screwed.

Half of the team doesn't take Skocic serious, and we have zero depth to replace the ones that might actually be starters.
Skocic can only be replaced by a vatani coach and probably the one or two candidates that might do half a good job will not accept the job.
Even if we get a new coach, the players are probably so divided that they never be a good team again in 1 or 2 meetings.
                  We have zero preparations.
Outside Azmoun and Taremi we probably have the worst (in shape) TM ever going to a WC.

I mean in a ideal world it already would be very hard to advance from our group, let alone in a world where we have to deal with IR, zero preparations and a divided group of players.

May God have mercy on our souls.

The one thing that gives me solace is that special Iranian gift of complete unexpected surprise.

When we feel good and expect to do well, we usually fail badly.

When we feel that we are screwed and have less than zero expectations, that's when good things happen, completely unexpected!

Taremi will miss the WC with an injury. Skocic will die of a heart attack induced by another series of out again/in again decisions by IFF. Azmoun will be benched this whole season just like JB. Amir and Beiro will again compete for the flukiest goal of the season. And Azizi will lead the team into the WC. The only Iranians watching the game will be those who couldn't get rid of their tickets at great discounts. And they shall watch the greatest decomposure of a national team since Germany 2018 or France 2010. Except it will happen to England...with Haj Safi scoring a set piece a la Carlos and England booed off the field!!
