Dribbling is not a stat that changes whether a team wins a game or not.

Lol, I don't know how to bash Skocic anymore for my agenda, so let's start shitting on Karimi now. A predictable lost of names will follow after Karimi.

Nope he was not. He said he was serious and I gave him several opportunities to back out but he declined saying he stands by his comments. Even he would agree with this. Why not give him another chance to eat his words and admit he supports TM over our WC opponents...

@Leicester City the mic is yours. Put your cred on the line...as it stands with THIS COACH and squad if we go to WC will you support TM over England, USA, and Wales?

I don‘t think that Skocic will be replaced. It would be suicide actually to do so shortly before the World Cup. I also liked Carlos Queiroz a lot but he ain‘t coming back. Why can‘t Iranian people let go? Like seriously stop idolizing people that much. We are gonna do just fine with Skocic. Once the World Cup starts, Iran is going to play their best game against these superior teams, wait and see. It was the same the last 2 World Cups and we did worse in those qualifying campaigns, didn‘t we?

Ali Karimi was undoubtably the player of the tournament in 2004 Asian Cup. The fact that they gave it to Nakamura (I think) is BS.

Karimi was simply unplayable in that tournament.

Regarding 2002: Ali Karimi was clearly our best player by a long shot and he was one of the main reasons we even got close to making it to the world cup.

Us not qualifying, was not his fault at all. It was the delusional, open attacking football that we played that allowed teams to open us up and score.

Our defending was amateurish back then, and that's why we blew it. - Our defending as a team, I mean. (We had some good individual defenders).

Branko repeated the same mistakes in 2006. - Unfortunately Skocic will do the same crap if he's our coach for 2022.

Karimi is not a forward. Scoring goals is not his job. His talent and skills are a lot harder to replace than Taremi's. Besides, Karimi before he got injured started in one of the most packed midfields even by Bayern Munich standards which is top of European level. While Taremi's goals are for Fc Porto. He would not even make the bench in Bayern. Comparing Ali Karimi to Taremi is not even correct I just pointed to it to show the hypocrisy of the CQ crowed.

But you keep referring to him as "parking the bus", which I just disagree with.

                            Hosseini puts it well here:

The guy just had a pragmatic but flexible style and he changed depending on the situation and opponent. Constantly calling it "parking the bus" is not really being honest imho

Because for me I like Skocic and think he is a good man and decent PGL coach but he just doesn't have what it takes to be coach in Qatar - we are going to be humiliated. This is the last "real" world cup.

Our team was still progressing under Queiroz and although the players were still psychologically fragile, he couldn't have done more to try to change this. We were still seeing him consistently blooding new players contrary to the desires of forum members (but the risk always worked out well), introducing new approaches. I believed in what was happening and I saw continued improving in professionalising our national team although he never got a chance to implement his "phase 3".

He isn't the God-King you keep mocking forum members for respecting, he made a lot of mistakes and I criticised him a lot, but for me he was the man to revolutionise our team and the changes were still happening. It just feels that the national team set-up has regressed hugely - not to mention player unity, discipline, important things like nutrition/psychology. We have stopped seeing new players coming through.

Constantly talking about agenda, schmagenda - after a number of decades I just want to see TM do well. Playing poorly and relying on moment of genius from Taremi against underpar Persian gulf teams is fine but I think everyone knows deep down that we are going to be humiliated for the first time in a world cup setting.

I have seen Iran change coach with three weeks to go before a world cup and still get results. I've seen fan power bring back a key person to the national team in 1997. I don't want a Lopetegui situation, but until we are at the stage that the players are in Qatar with Skocic it is reasonable to want change. When that happens, everyone will be passionately supporting the team whoever the coach is.

In any case we at home have little power compared to the players in that divided dressing room so this is all a moot point.

Dr. Joon, such a big response yet no explanations why CQ has to be mentioned.

About CQ's tactics obviously he is not going to park the bus against Maldives. However in important matches against teams that ON PAPER looked stronger than us, this was and will be his go to approach. If you disagree, please give me a couple of examples in matches that mattered where he didn't do this.

Again having said that, this doesn't mean I think CQ was bad. He did great things, and he got the respect that he deserved. The story should end there.

Obviously I jokingly saying CQ is God King, as some people give him credit for things he never in any logical world could have any influence on. Like you now saying we don't see new talents coming through... What can anybody do about that? Was CQ making super talent babies in Iran that I wasn't aware of? Even if he had some kind of a super power to turn average players in to stars, he couldn't do this as head coach of a NT. He should be working every day with players to achieve that, as a club coach. Or people saying that he discovered Taremi. How the hell could you discover the main striker of our biggest club???? If he didn't 'discover' our best striker in Iran, he would be a major goozoo. But fortunately he did discover the MVP of Iran's biggest club. Saying things like this are just not necessary. We've already established that he did a lot, but please don't go overboard with it.

You say agenda schamgenda, but literally in the same post you explain that you want Skocic gone....

And then saying we have little power compared to the players. Yes, you don't have to be rocket scientist to understand that. However you don't think don't get encouraged to speak up when they feel they have half the country behind them?
