I disagree. Yes, EPL is the best league in the world right now. But our players should go to teams/leagues that are best suited for them. A player like Shojaei for example, was able to last as long as he did at Osasuna, in spite of his penchant for dribbling and slow pace, because a league like La Liga allows for players to express themselves more on the ball, as opposed to Bundesliga & EPL.
Even Karimi admitted that Magath would clamp down his dribbling and expressing himself on the ball. So he pretty much ended up becoming an average run of the mill player there.
Pretty much in EPL & Bundesliga they admire work-horse hustling players, and less emphasis on technical players, unless you’re elite at it.
Plus, culturally, I think Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish leagues are closer to ours, so it allows better transition and compatibility in general. Those are still good European leagues.
Ghoddos was playing in Swedish league, but look how confident he looked against Portugal in WC18, or when he played against Arsenal? It’s important he plays somewhere that makes him the best version of himself, not what “looks good” on paper.
