milad's highlights. Solid game by him. Defensively when on form he has always been one of our most solid players, fast, physical, very focussed and rarely caught out of position.
Its usually him being retarded with the ball that has exposed him in TM games. From these highlights he was solid in possession, couple bad crosses but I don't think that will ever change, his crossing is very hit or miss.
Crazy atmosphere in this new AEK stadium is nice plus
Ehsan Fabregas is a very uneven player. One day he plays like real madrid superstars fvcking up whole senegal starting XI. Next day he is sooti masterclass. Dude is traditional iranian player to the core.
Fortunately, latest generation iranian players show much more even performances than previous ones.
full 90 mins and clean sheet for hajsafi today in 3-0 win vs crete. Milad unused sub.
Him and milad situation this season, given they are playing same position, basically went as good as possible in leadup to WC.
Both have gotten regular mins, decent form, and not overworked/played. Considering AEK have quite a few WC players (gacinovic - serbia, pineda - mexico, szymanski - poland, vida - croatia, zuber-switzerland) Im sure the level in the squad has been high enough to ensure they are as ready.
OFC both have their own weaknesses which we have discussed in this board for many years at length, but would feel ok with either starting at lb at this point, as long as midfield helps cover them like torabi did for jalali vs uruguay.
8.2 sofascore rating is very rare for a left back! Pretty sure hajsafi will be in starting XI vs england. nobody knows in which position
I think he'll be our starting left back; and Amiri will be in the midfield with Saeed Ezatolahi and Ahmad Nourallahi (though, it should be Saman Ghoddos).
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

I think ghoddos will start for sure actually.
If Sardar is not fit to start vs england (likely the case), then amiri will start LM, taremi up top.
Vs Wales Azmoun will probably start, Taremi wide left and one of amiri/nourollahi will drop out of lineup.
Gholizadeh, Karimi, Torabi, Ansarifard, Milad will definitely be the main options off the bench and hopefully Zahedi and Hosseinzadeh are there to round it off, plus whichever of majid/shoja doesnt start next to kanaani.
Essentially for this wc we have squad of 11 starters + 8ish reputable bench options. Besides GKs, which brings total to ~20, there will be 5-6 guys in qatar there for vacation
Hajsafi highlights. Looks very sharp. Good crossing, esp compared to milad, secure defensively.
AEK has been a godsend for his form, fitness.
same for Milad. The good thing about this move was that it was going to give him the opportunity to find that form and maintain high fitness levels which he has now done both. He has a long way to go still but certainly at present in a better form situation than when he came in.
