First of all we saw with our own eyes in quite a difficult EL group that AEK can hold their own. No Iranian team would have performed at that level vs the likes of Brighton and Ajax. They came up short bc of awful finishing but their overall play was impressive. Almeyda their coach is getting a lot of interest from top 5 leagues, apparently he was close to Lazio job after sarri left a few weeks ago.

PAOK demolished dinamo Zagreb 5-1 in conference league second leg. In the group stages they beat eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 home and away.

Olympiacos with an impressive 6-1 win away from home in isnotreal to see off maccabi, also beat west ham in the group stages.

Panathinaikos beat marseille to get thru the group stage of EL where they subsequently beat Villarreal as well before eventually coming up short to advance from difficult group that also included braga and Rennes.

all of this is corroborated in the league table, where the big 4 are only separated by a few points while 5th place Aris, Karims new team is like 10 points behind 4th.

The top 4 Greek teams are really quite good and I would be more than happy if we could get more guys there. Includes like of ghayedi, nour, saeid and younger guys like hazbavi, yousefi, hosseinNejad even. The rest of the league after Aris is around Pgpl level
I can't argue against your points about results. Results speak for themselves.
However outside of the top 3, they're not really competitive.

I don't think there is a lot of difference between what we're both saying. The majority of the league isn't that great. It's just better presented, plus benefits from being in the best football confederation.

Greek league outside big 3+ PAOK is more or less at IPL level
That is true about most of border line 2nd/3rd rated euro leagues

He actually played a really solid game away to PAOK. They lost 3-2 last minute but awesome atmosphere. Hajsafi with 1 assist and his great delivery led to Vida's goal off free kick. His full highlight package above.

Even with loss AEK retain 1st place, 4 pts ahead of PAOK who have a game in hand.

Still respectable he is performing at this level, regardless of if we moved on from him at TM.

I didn’t see a thread but he is on the scoresheet - set up by Antony Martial.

We haven't called him Ehsan Fabregas for 15+ years for nothing

His TM days seem all but over ? ha??

GN seems to have moved on from him? or do you think our recent shortcomings in LB/LWB/LCM position due to lack of healthy/quality options could possibly open the way back for him ??

Haj Safi is the only older player I don't mind being our injury reserve player becuase he can play anywhere and is still in good form. The others like Shoja though...goodbye

shoja been performing pretty damn good in TM of late , especially in absence of his usual CB partner bus boy... and getting paired with a different, rookie CB partners from one game to next..! and he was fantastic at AC too baring perhaps one match..!

even b4 that they both played a Pivotal role under Eskoocher in getting us qualified to WC22 after the huge hole and near impossible situation that wiltits had gotten our WCQ into prior to that...!!
in fact, i have little doubt that him and kannani woulda faired far, FAR better than the goozooz CQ so unfairly replaced them with @ WC22 and dearly paid the price for ..!!

granted they're not the most likable personalities, so they get way too much unfair and unwarranted criticism for but to me, Even now, they are w/o a doubt the most formidable CB duo TM could possibly field out there vs anyone ..!!
