Sorry, were you expecting us to simply qualify from this tough group, while playing open attacking football?

We had a bit of luck, sure, but this style of play gave us the best chance possible, all while not having a squad nearly as good as our current squad, which has been badly outplayed by the only 2 DECENT sides they've met, while playing your preferred attacking approach.

Greece possession numbers in 2004 were not nearly as low as ours. In the final against portugal they hit 42%. We were no where near that in 2014 or 2018. Citing greece as an example is a false compsrison. Its wishful thinking...and commonly cited by those who think defensive strategies are all the same. Also we are playing USA, Wales, England...

UsA was not top ranked in WCq nor was wales. Also we played the same way against all 6 teams in 14 and wC 18 with the exception of Bosnia. But tbh we didn't have the attacking power we have now. And defensively we are no longer same as 14 and 18.

Different circumstances require different tactics. We failed to adapt. We played Iraq and Lebanon same way as Spain and Argentina.
