One finally, after 44 years, opened the door of the stadiums to women. One got us friendlies with Senegal and Uruguay, Algeria and Canada (before some Iranian/Canadians cancelled it). One paid all of IFF debts. All in a few months of being in charge.
Taj even lost the IFF building. This guy gets it back. And now Taj shows up and goes to work in that same building.

Small corrections but generally agree.

IFF still has debts - Majedi just paid off the internal ones. Big debts like the Wilmots case are still outstanding.

Azizi Khadem's team lost the building but it was because of Taj's Wilmot's f*** up.

If you guys really want to go through and comprehensively compare records between Taj and Majedi, we can do that. But you're giving one sided perspectives with only Taj's failure with Wilmots and nothing else. All of Majedi's successes and nothing else too. Sure Taj is a crook, but so is almost everyone in that swamp.

Some being a bit generous to majedi... Debts (big ones) are still there. He has been struggling since taking office to get any sort of funding to TM. In His interview with Adel he basically admitted nobody would give them money and kept patting himself on the back for paying office staff...Meanwhile perspolis are signing locadia, diabate, foreign assistant coach, sepahan signing Morais, Manuel Fernandes, Tractor getting Berdyev + foreign players, and SS with Sa pinto, yet we are supposed to believe not even 250k can be found in this country to help TM with critical world cup prep? I don't buy that. And his excuse to accomplishing so little was always the same, complain about lack of funds but ignore the fact that many internal solutions didn't even require the kind of money he kept implying.

For friendlies, we finished most critical window that should have ended with 4 friendlies like most international teams, with only 1 friendly vs algeria B in 120F weather...The camp was such a disaster the players refused to discuss it after the fact and that is where the biggest opposition to skocic emerged FROM THE PLAYERS (not from Taj or anybody else). If you sko lovers are looking for somebody that should protect him better or at least inform him that keeping players for 2 weeks in that heat is a bad idea, look no further than majedi.That was an unmitigated disaster. Yeah canada fucked us over, but the holes in that plan were clear for any semi-seasoned operator to see. No contingency plan = disaster we witnessed.

Has Taj made mistakes, yes. But I remember all things considered we had a solid prep schedule for last WC, maybe missing 1-2 marquee matchups. But Russia, Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Panama, Venezuela was certainly solid as far as prep goes. Taj's heart attack happened when he was trying to force through the greece friendly before higher ups cancelled bc of alcohol sponsorship. But to suggest Majedi has been nothing but great and is handing Taj a golden platter is BS.

What about TM u23? Meant to go for ISG in Konya, great prep tournament for them, couldnt even get enough players together to make the trip...Whose responsibility is it to get clubs to release their players for u23 duty?

Meanwhile our beach and futsal programs have disappeared from relevance completely! And dont forget how we had just until last week no fans in stadiums for longer than any other country, had teams in azadegan just forfeit their final few matches bc their position in the standings couldn't have changed too much from them, and a host of other unprofessional BS from top to bottom. Is it all Majedi's fault? No, but as head of the federation certainly he should take responsibility for some of it instead of deflecting as you accuse Taj of doing so much...Dont even get started on the disaster of SS and PP in ACL!

Majedi is no Saint. But he is lesser of the two evils. What's the biggest f up of iffs modern history? Most members of this forum would agree the Wilmots disaster that almost killed our qualification and financially corrupted and destroyed our football. Who is primarily responsible for that?

Another general comment is that Majedi's terms was under severe sanctions, while most of Taj's term was much less restrictive sanctions. A third general comment is the character of Majedi vs Taj. I don't think Majedi has court cases against him or accused of stealing or shady business practices. And now some more specific answers:

How do you want Majedi to get more money from government??? By coming on TV and saying "we have plenty of cash. No need for govt. help". Of course, he is going to complain about lack of funds. He managed to get enough funds for a camp in Austria and paying for friendlies with Uruguay and Senegal!!! To get funds is one thing, to apply the funds to improve our infrastructure so women can attend games is another. He did that. Just because he does not have a PHD in self promotion like Taj doesn't mean that behind closed doors, he is not having a lot success. And the guy does not give up. After the Mashad incident, where local officials took the matters in their own hand, it would have been very easy to give up and go hide. That is exactly what a zerang manager like Taj would have done to keep his contacts in govt happy. But he kept pushing forward and now women can go to games in Tehran and all other towns are pushing to get women attend their games too. If Majedi did not do anything else, seeing the joy and happiness of our women attending games was enough for me. Huge.

I can't blame the cancellation of Canada camp on Majedi. It was a wonderful idea, 14 continuous days of camp in one cool country with high Iranian population and two or three games against useful opponents. Everyone here thought it was a great idea when they first heard it. We all know what happened next. And to answer people who ask for plan B... IFF can't ask Brazil and France to leave their calendars wide open during the FIFA days for Iran just in case Canada cancels on us last second. So the choice was given to Skocic to either hold camp in Tehran where it is very unlikely to get a friendly or go to Qatar where more teams are stationed or fly through and possibly get a last minute friendly. Even with Monday morning quarterbacking, I still have not heard what people wanted Majedi/Skocic to do in that situation. The game being held in a non-airconditioned facility was a f*ck up but goes back to last minute request by IFF and Qatar redoing the turf of all their facilities that were not previously reserved.

Weather in Qatar dictated their schedule and practices had to shift to late at night. Practices ended past midnight and most here know after a grueling workout, you can't go straight to bed. So players were up till 3 AM playing games till their body cooled enough to shower and go to bed. Requiring them to get up at 8 for breakfast would have been nuts. Coaching staff basically shifted everyone's day by 4 hours in order to have practices at night.

As you know, there were much more FIFA days before previous WCs for friendly games to be arranged. Can't compare our 2018 friendlies to this year although I would say this year's friendlies would have been much more impressive if Canada camp was not cancelled.

I suppose Taj got whatever players CQ wanted from the clubs with no issue??? Bronco and CQ were on the same page all the time!!! Not. As a matter of fact, there is much more harmony and cooperation between national teams and clubs during Majedi's rein. Closing the domestic league early so TM can have a longer camp earlier in September is the perfect example of that. During Taj's time, trying to do this would have been major drama for months without any success.

And finally, blaming SS and PP situation in ACL on IFF and Majedi in particular is totally unjust. First of all, it happened before Majedi's time and secondly, SS and PP are govt run teams that had warnings for years and should take responsibility for their own actions. IFF can not force Ministry of Sport to privatize SS and PP.

One of Majedi’s failures was appointing people like Estili who are dozds , and looking for their own profit/power with their own factions/bases in the nezam.
