Do you realize that we are grouped with Wales and USA ? They are strong teams but never ever i would say that we are chanceless, i would say we never had better chances, Wales and USA are underdogs for me, a well prepared TM will beat both, we will have 4-7 points at this WC.

The 100+ people supporting CQ here have actually watched TM play under both managers. One was a well oiled machine, and one was more akin to the 3 stooges. If CQ can get over the last hump of players not losing concentration in singular moments in his tenure, then we will go very far in the WC and win the next Asian Cup. Skocic’s tenure saw more brain farts in his short time as HC vs 8 years under CQ. That should tell you something about the discipline between the two managers. CQ is not a king or whatever superlatives people give to him, but he is the best option we could ever hope to get at the moment given the circumstances. I’m happy to explore a younger coach with a resume if CQ isn’t successful at WC, but we would need a miracle to get a point with Skocic’s weak tactics. The guy was out of his depth, and CQ will get the team organized to defend again. Our defense was our strongest attribute, and now our defense has been laughable under Skocic. If Roozbeh and Tooleh Khers (and their alt accounts) want to go to Qatar with a leaky defense and just hope for the best, then that is their prerogative. I would see that as suicide for TM, and it seems many others do as well.

The weakest Iraq team in their history based on what I’ve seen their own fans saying. They didn’t fare too well against most of the other teams in our group either, while they were consistently doing well during CQ’s tenure. Was CQ paying other teams at the time to struggle playing Iraq back then, or is this too damaging to your theory? Seriously, anyone who doesn’t see that UAE, Lebanon, etc. are dramatically weaker now and we were gifted the easiest qualification group I believe I’ve ever seen should go into comedy. People on reddit who are neutral we’re laughing at how easy our group was, it’s no accomplishment getting out of that group.

Teams go up and down, beating Uzbekistan in more recent times has been a lot easier than the early mid-2010’s. They have really dropped significantly in quality. If Skocic had beat them 100 times in this weakened state, would you still point that CQ lost to them in a cycle when they almost qualified for the 2014 World Cup and put up excellent results at the time, even against other teams? This is the flaw in logic that some of you don’t seem to comprehend (or purposely aren’t to confirm your own bias).

Edit to say: the fact you’re comparing beating Iraq in the modern day to any Japan team or even Oman who beats teams like Australia and Japan fairly regularly and isn’t a bad team is pretty laughable. Pretty sure we beat Oman in all games that weren’t that one friendly as well. CQ wasn’t perfect, but again, he had a plan, he had tactics, he had the command of the players and even had the ability to get the IFF in line on some occasions. None of these traits apply to Skocic unfortunately. Skocic seems like a nice guy, but we need a strong leader with a plan. I’ll take losing a friendly to Oman to beat South Korea in every game that matters and have a strong showing in the World Cup. If you prefer to crush Oman in friendlies and be embarrassed at the World Cup and even embarrassed by teams at South Korea’s level, then good on you Tooleh Khers, I mean shlamrub lol.
