Tooleh jan, would you watch a team that is parking the bus
and making a Brazil out of the team they are playing against?
Obviously, you, me any fan who wants to see some good
respectable attacking football would be frustrated and angry.
All I said in one post was that I would save myself from
feeling embarrassed and frustrated. This seems to be a
great sin in some fans' holy book of fandom!! lol

And Ghermez agha jan, was it you who blocked/banned me for a day or two? LOL
Anyway, in your book there is zero difference between me who is not
going to watch TM if they park the bus and the guy who wishes TM to lose 10-0?
Wow!! That is so harsh and unforgiving!

That’s because he was out of Iran for a couple of years.
Watch him look like 80 in 3 months 😁
J/K ofc, may CQ live until he’s 100!

Nope never blocked you or banned you. And yeah that’s correct - there is no difference there.

The only thing inaccurate in what you’re saying is parking the bus. When the bus parks it doesn’t move, after all that’s the exact definition of “parking”. CQ’s TM plays tight, doesn’t allow for any holes and hits out on the opposition on counters. They did that vs Argentina about 12 times and nearly snatched 1-3 points from them the year they were runner up and with that tactic got 4 points in a group comprised of the African champ, European champ, and one of the top teams in the world. Thankfully he’s smart enough to know kanani and Shoja can’t take sterling, kane, pulisic, reyna, bale, Daniel james, etc. 1v1 for 90 mins so we can have hope again so he’ll employ a similar tactic that gives us a chance vs teams that are superior to us in every area of the pitch besides our forward line.

I genuinely can't get my head round how anyone who has played or coached football at any level can't have been impressed with how we played in 2018 (apart from first 10 mins against Morocco). Playing with such unwavering discipline and tactical awareness with a team which was 1/15th transfer value of the european champions and the penultimate champions.

                  I can't understand it...

You can't use that term, it's highly offensive in today's day and age!

You have to use the politically correct term: Disciplined football!

I think the opposite, I find he aged a lot during these last 3 years. Maybe because I didn't follow him closely during his colombia and Egypt spell

some proper decent attacking football. We will find out from the friendlies!
But in any case, watching or not
does not mean I don't support TM.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but the issue is with expectation and pragmatism.

Just look at the sport infrastructure and grassroots of Iran in the current regime and compare with other countries. Our most valuable central midfielder has over half a dozen seasons of only playing 5-6 games.

In both the last two world cups, we played much better than the sum of our individual parts. Every single TM fan in those six stadia were impressed with how solid we were as a unit compared to our previous tournaments over the last few decades

I genuinely don't understand how you realistically want Iran to play open attacking football against well drilled teams in a world cup.

                            Just be realistic agha...

I disagree with this. We have a footballing history. Are we less than Ghana, Senegal, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Mexico to just name a few? Why can those countries attack and we can't?

Our futsal and Beach Soccer do this on the world stage and defeat the "stronger" teams regularly. It's more than infrastructure and grass roots...some of it is psychological I.e., self belief and worth. If you believe you can do it/you can achieve it then you are more likely to succeed than having a defeatist attitude.
