Man of his word that has brought prestige, respect, unity, and most importantly professionalism to the national team. We saw how all this fell apart under Wilmots. And I think any decent fan appreciates and thanks Dragan for the job he did. What we need to keep in mind is that this is not about loyalty and its about actually what's best for Iran and the national team. At the end of the day you know what CQ brings to the table and we can be sure that our opponents in the WC now will not be sleeping as easy having him at the helm.
This is CQ 4th world cup and if you look at the list of all time world cup managers there is only 8 other coaches that have been to more world cups (4 or more attended). Once he achieves this there would only be 2 other coaches who have coached more at the world cup at 5 and 6 tournaments.
Agha jan this is not a true representative of Iranian sentiments. They did a poll in Iran and 56% were against hiring CQ. The fans and the team have never been so divided over the appointment of a coach. This is what kateb calls shotor morgh syndrome. PFDC is not a good representation of Iranians and this poll proves it. Yes we know what CQ brings to the table we ate it for 8 years and now will again for another world cup at least.

What poll was this in Iran? I’m sure they’d never fudge any numbers in a country like Iran! No corruption in the media at all! just like how 112% of Russians support Putin. It’s just simple math. Those western twitter and PFDC, they are the product of great satan, never trust them, trust Azizi and Karimi! They’re impartial!

Can we agree that at least half of Iran are Perspolis fans? Can we then agree that at least half of those do not like CQ? CQ supporters are not the majority. At best it is 50% which the poll shows it is more like 40%. Certainly among Iranian football pishkesvats, coaches, and ex players he is really unpopular. To say otherwise is nothing more than a doroogheh shakhdaar.

Lol this maybe true but what does it tell us about Taj winning the election? Can't use this argument for one side only [emoji6]

^^ I would add that this poll represents mostly expats who are not as gheyrati as Iranians in Iran when it comes to foreigners looking down on our football.

Now that I think about it I am even less happy about this appointment. We Basically put a guy in charge (and his fans) that do not believe in our football, not in Asia and definitely not against Europeans. Their hopes and dreams for us is "we can not" and "we should know our level". Would have liked someone who thinks and dreams bigger. Besides we had already 8 years of this crap.

The IR fake polls are no measurements of how much CQ is loved. Anyone that understands an ounce of football understands how great CQ is for Iranian football.

I see CQ like the Shah. Shah was supported by 90% of the population and was so great for Iran. Then 10% idiots and traitors destroyed the country. And put on a so called election and said we have full support of the people. The same is to be said about CQ and the 90% support you are seeing!

😂😂😂😂😂 first beat Algeria and Korea before you expect respect.
Does your gheyrat tell you we are on par w Brazil?

If Iranians in Iran had any gheyrat, they wouldn't allow our mothers and sisters to be treated like dogs.

No I mean expats who are Iranian by blood only. Sure they follow Team Melli but would they go to war for Iran? The whole lot of them actually hate Iran for some reason. I do not believe you know what bekesh ziresh is and are just blinded by biase. To suggest CQ does not play bekesh ziresh is against all reality.

Why Korea? First beat Iraq and Bahrain and Lebanon, Syria...first grade 1 the 2 then 3...I guess it is okay for CQ to tie Orlando Pirates, Turkmenistan....but not okay to lose a friendly to Algeria. What about Tunisia is that okay? What about losing 3-1 to Bosnia? Is beating them 2- 0 a bad result? Yes my gheyrat tells me we can play football and have a chance. Forget Brazil, please tell me who we do have a chance against? Your gheyrat is that of an expat. Good thing football is a game where teams play to each other's levels and everyone has a chance especially if they park the bus and defend, defend, defend...
