any reasoning? Omid was one of CQs most trusted guys through asian cup and is in phenomenal shape. Ditto with amiri, but his presence would depend on his fitness.

He was playing in Sepehan and Esteghlal for most of CQs last terms. Now at AL Wakra...and he has aged. I expect he won't be first choice for CQ but I hope I'm wrong.

Ghaedi is the only one I'd be confident of. Comical selection.

The Nour/Noor axis of disgrace could still make the squad given lack of depth in the national pool.

Abedz ain't getting close to number 1 shirt and as Farhad21 said, we should all be massively grateful for that.

hardly a fantasy player. Great frame and work rate off the ball, strong runner.

CQ never had anything against technically capable players, just those that were total passengers off the ball. Yasin is not.

I do think Karim will be in the squad. If the corpse of Ashkan and Masoud were invited in 2018/2019 for "leadership" reason, then Karim will be called up this time around.

Ehsan, for sure. If I were to guess, I'd say Ehsan is our starting LB at the WC.

Karim, maybe, not so sure. Depends on if CQ thinks any of his competitors are more worthwhile (Alipour, Zahedi). But CQ doesn't really know Zahedi well so it's unlikely he'll axe Karim for him.

lol, he has Next to no defensive quality/bone in him...(i dont undrestand why coach after coach keeps using him in defensive role of sorts..?) but like kid's got mad natural attacking sense and talent ... imo, he may well be the best "Pure L Winger" that we got ..? kid has a good head on his shoulder and comes across a very mature level headed person, so a positive in dressing room and beyond ...! i'd take him over that ostekhoni joojeh ghaedi anyday ..!
his general defensive flaws, rather diminutive size and physical strength are also the big negatives and the fact that CQ doesnt play with Pure attacking wingers/wingbacks and those who are unable to track back and contribute efficiently enough to his team defensive structure..!! he only makes exception for sardar from that perspective and him alone, due to his unmatched goal-scoring prowess !!
a Fully Fit Amiri is a lock for CQ or any other coach..!! his versatility, strength and hard running nonstop engine and superior WORKRATE is unmatched ...!! he can always fulfill his position's defensive duties and Then Some ... helping other's with their's...!!
besides i think too much is being made of Amiri's comments on CQ..!!?? Can someone quote back to me exactly what he said about carlos that was so bad..??

Maybe this is a crazy thought but I don’t think CQ will axe Shoja. It would be too controversial honestly and I don’t think he will want to create that situation for himself since he’s coming in with so much ppl noisy on the side as it is. Yeah I know many of you would say he probably doesn’t care about that stuff and always does what he wants…..it’s just a gut feeling he will go about things a little differently this time. I think he has a talk with Shoja or, if Shoja is smart, he will pull CQ aside and apologize for previous bs comments he made that were purely out of frustration and emotion. Hopefully they sort it out and that becomes a nice story to kick off CQ’s return.

50 players were submitted for visas well in advance by Skocic. Of those 50, 26 or maybe more will be selected.
