Knowing where the majority of Team Melli players stand and who they’re backing during these times makes me less numb to watch the World Cup. Unfortunately as Iranians, we are always caught in bipolar situations. We love and support our national team because they are Iranian and are playing for Iran. Unfortunately they were a crest which reads “i.r.”. Knowing that they’re for their people and not for the murderous i.r. gives us fans something strong to believe in. Especially when majority of our players are behind the revolution. Popular players like Azmoun, Taremi and Jahanbakhsh have a big fan base and they’ve used it in support of the people. When you see Sardar posting middle finger emojis in his Instagram story and directing them at i.r., then everyone says he’ll be benched vs. Senegal but he comes on and scores, we have hope as fans.

We’re all broken hearted and hurt for what’s happening over there. We’re all supporting our people over there. I’m going to be supporting my national team at this World Cup knowing where they stand and hope they’ll show/do something to keep the pressure on i.r. at the World Cup.

Its very intentional and at this stage I’m sure it’s at least part of some misinfo campaign. Instead of talking about strikes or the events in Iran, I see random bots spouting anti team Melli slogans with the occasional users who just have gotten caught up in the moment.

Here is some sad facts about the protests:

1.) Its carried on by mainly (majority) young people that have no power at all. The older generation tend not to care or atleast they don't dare to protest.
-reason: simply because the older generation have been shutdown and silenced before by IR. Thats why you don't see them. I beleive same thing will happen to this young generation too.
            2.) No funding
            3.) No Leader
            4.) No Training

5.) No Plan whatsoever - people just go out

6.) sadly innocent people get killed
7.) No change will happen. Why? Read No2 to No5 and repeat.

Again i still beleive these protests are planned by IR to shutdown the opposition members inside iran. I've been saying this for last 10 years or so , IR tends to create fake protest only to kill and silence people and make the movement weaker.

People keep falling for it for many years and the movement becomes weaker. I still beleive nothing will happen and these protests are useless. It only makes IR happy.

Regarding football. Again People are sheeps. Some how they think if Team melli gets banned from WC IR will suffer, the truth is that nothing will happen to IR if our team melli gets banned from WC. However in WC we can send huge message to the world. THEY CANT SILENCE your words in Qatar. So Marg bar Khamenei is more enjoyable than seeing our Team melli getting banned.

^ I don't see why it's so hard to grasp why some people might think that it would be better if TM didn't participate at the WC. Especially after their point has been explained time after time.

Nobody thinks that not going (or going and actually not playing), TM will make the kooni IR regime fall. As nobody thinks mourning someone will bring them to life again. Why did the EPL postponed their games after the Queen died? Did they think that will bring the Queen back to life?

Sometimes you just to things, because they're the right thing to do, out of respect, of of good ethics and sympathy, out of compassion.

(Again this doesn't mean that I think TM should be banned from the WC)

Closer we get to the tournament and the longer this great revolution is going I feel less enthusiastic about the wc. This is specially true after the embarrassing bow some of TM players did in front of that murderer raisi. I truly hope the team redeems it self during the tournament by not singing the anthem and displaying some form of support and solidarity and not celebrate when scoring. If this doesn’t take place this team will be the least liked and manfoor team in history. The national team is a team of the people and it’s better to stand with the people just like Ali Daei and Karimi than being a bow-down puppet to murders.

I have a feeling that if Amiri, Torabi are not in the starting lineup, then there will be silence during the anthem. However if the majority or entire team sings the anthem, then it would be obvious that they received life threats for themselves or their family members. People need to understand that when one receives life threats, then "Personal security as well as security for Family members" would be the top priority.

In the meeting with Raisi, it is so obvious that Beiranvand's face is red when placed his hand on his chest. Roozbeh Cheshmi's bow was also suspicious. I really wish that Iranian people do not judge people based on photographs. Who knows what happend behind the scenes? If anyone lived in Iran, went to school, university or worked in that country would know about the warnings and threats that people receive. Sometimes, neighbours would make threats. Also if any Iranian who was an International student in Western countries would know that at times some families broke up, as some family members would be forced to go back to Iran as a result of threats by IRI spies or would return to Iran permanently after they took their scholarship etc.

So what I am trying to say is there is enormous pressure on athletes, opportunist photos taken are not full story, there are always things happening behind the scenes. Maybe Cheshmi and Beiranvand were selected and forced to talk, also told how they should start the greeting. The Team have expressed their support towards the people before that, with the exception of Amiri and Torabi.

How about if goal scorer shows a heart with his two hands, says "Baraye Mardom-e Iran" and then bows or kneel on the grass? Would you be happy with such goal celebration?

I am not excited about this World Cup, I will try to watch Iran's games live and other matches (only if I am in the mood). Football at the moment is secondary.

Of course most people here care about both. It is a daft question TBH
I will eagerly follow and support both TM in Qatar and

                        نگاه میکنید.

The perfect goal celebration would be,
the goal scorer runs towards the bench celebrating, than take a portable clipper, which its hidden
And shave middle of his head right there
In front of the whole world.
THE CLIP OF THAT GOAL CELEBRATION
WILL BE PLAYED IN THE NEXT 100 YEARS

To think that a womens revolution and burning hijabs is planned by I.R is quite a long shot IMO.

This revolution has penetraded I.R main core and have reached a point of no going back.

This is no longer my Team Melli. This is "teameh jomhooree-eh eslami". Anyone (including CQ) who met with the criminal Raeisi and gave him positive coverage by their presence are no longer part of my Team Melli. I understand that some who play in Europe may feel different but the ship has sailed for me. This is the first time I have felt this way in my life. It's painful. Raeisi is a mass criminal and belongs in a national truth and reconciliation tribunal. The blood on his hands go beyond the 300+ since Mahsa's killing, it includes 4000+ in 1988 when he headed the committee of death commissioned by Khomeini to execute defenseless political prisoners including many who had served their full sentences and were awaiting freedom. CQ showed that he is just here for the money and fame and has not much humanity left in him. The players and other staff who went to the "presidential palace" showed that they have no honor and as Yahya said they get a zero score. Shame, shame, shame!
