How DARE Villa take a penalty when Raul was on the field!!! Dont get me wrong they arent too bad (especially Villa) but they are getting far more attention than they deserve, im sure you can agree to a certain extent.
no man ur wrong and here s why
    I love Raul
but he is not a deadly penalty taker
did u see Villa's kick against France? that was one of the best I ve seen in this worldcup.
They don t get too much attention...they are the future of Spain
Raul does not have the stamina and quickness to play 90 minutes and he is usually behind these 2 players as a playmaker. Villa is very hard working and is a well all-around player. I m sure the coach would chose the best kick taker during practice. And torres is really good and there isn t anyone at CF better than Torres.
Morientes is too old and he is not better than villa or Torres. don t forget Villa was right behind Eto in la liga s top scorer.
And Reyes is good, but he is only a side player and he sticks to the left wing.
Villa and Torres are CFs and not wingers, and spain usually attacks from the right so Reyes is not used that much.
I don t think they are over-rated one bit and if anything, Villa is way underrated because he plays at valencia

      Villa scored didn't he?

Im a Real supporter, watched Raul basically all his footballing life in Real and can say he was a goalscoring god a few years ago still holding the record in the champions league for most goals.

But he is out of form and has sadly lost his best game at the moment.

Hopefully he returns to form. But Morientes is overated IMO, he can barely score at Liverpool and in an interview said his hobby was playing computer video games....

Either way you guys keep praising Villa and Torres just like the coach did, even though 2 of Villa's 3 goals were penalty's and so was one of Torres' goals. So they didnt really stand out as much as some may insist in this tournament...yeah the others might be getting older and worn out but these guys arent anywhere near world class, they play for Valencia and Atletico for god sake.

How can you claim that Barthez is over-rated? He has kept 4 clean sheets and let only one goal in from open play in this tournament.

It must have been an odd coincidence for such an "over-rated" player to win both the World Cup and European Championship, eh?

Defenitely Lukas Podolski, I saw nothing so amazing about him that he got the best young player award, Ronaldo was heads and shoulders above him.

I still don't know why Domenech benched Coupet to put Barthez in goal. IMO Coupet is a lot better than Barthez.

I think it may have had something to do with Astrology, Domenech claims that he saw it in the stars that he had to pick Barthez....or God told him or something like this! Either way, it's worked out fine because Barthez has kept 4 clean sheets and I think people generally discredit him because he is short and bald.

How dare you call Thierry Henry overrated?? It's just cuz of the stupid system that Domenech uses in France which doesn't let him play like he should play, or else he is a deadly striker. Thierry Henry has got the stats, just go and check them out urselve, he always ends scoring over 20 goals each season with a handful of assists too!! Not even Ronaldinho has stats like him.

Well he's conceded only 2 goals in 6 games against teams like Brazil, Spain, and Portugal. One of the 2 goals was a penalty by Spain and the other was a weird goal that Korea scored...so dont discredit this man one bit, he is not overrated I dont even hear people give him credit anymore! If anything he is underrated.

How many saves has Barthez really had to make this tournament? I don't recall one world class save. I give the credit to the back four rather than Barthez. With him in goal you always know you are in for a chance with a blooper...like his fumbled chest save against Portugal the other day.

Coupet has had a far better season and is a far better goalkeeper and everyone in France knows it...apart from Domenech!

Dude, people discredit him since he has a habit of making awful, awful howlers. He even tried his best against Portugal with that Ronaldo shot, but they didn't test him enough. Coupet is a far more reliable keeper.
