Zidane has gheyrat. I give full respect to him. You cant compare Zidance to Materazzi, Zidane is royalty in football.
Whatever was said; Zidane should have done more. IF it was about his handicapped son then i would have kicked marco in his head continuously afterwards, a headbutt is nothing. Materazzi was probably winded for a couple of minutes.
I can't understand how you can say it didn't affect France's game. It might not have affected them in football terms because it was basically at the end of the match but it certainly affected there mentallity and hope for the game, before the sending-off they looked sure to wm it and you could see the belief in their faces and why not they were certainly the better side but after that it was obviously they were going to lose since they just lost it, they weren't even really thinking about the game.
As to the 'Zidane incident' itself, it depends what happened it Materazzi really did say something that bad then I don't really blame Zidane. Its easy to say 'he should have had more control...' but there is a point, a red line, after which nothing matters and all you want to the is kill the guy that said it whatever happens. And as i say if Materazzi really did do something like that then it is a very cheap way of winning the WC.
But if Materazzi only said something not too offensive like 'you're a rubbish player' then obviously you've got to blame Zidane. However I don't think this hapened since first Materazzi said something and Zidane just laughed and walked off but then he said something else at which point Zidane cracked.
Overall, I'm really disappointed that the career of one of the best players ever had to end like this and for me most of the blame goes to Materazzi.
U guys are soooo blinded, come on man, didnt u see zidane was the one starting this? why? because materazzi played an almost perfect game making no mistakes, zidane was just pissed he couldnt make a move without getting defended...

Zinedine Zidane's agent says the France captain headbutted Marco Materazzi in Sunday's World Cup final because the Italian made a "very serious" comment.
Zidane appeared to react to something that was said and was dismissed for his violent charge into his opponent.
"He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what," agent Alain Migliaccio told BBC Five Live Sport.
Sources in France say it is believed Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother.
Migliaccio, who spoke to Zidane at 2am on Monday, added that Zidane did not elaborate on what Materazzi said.
"I don't know. Zinedine didn't want to talk about it but it will all come out in the next week," he said.
"He is a man who normally lets things wash over him but on Sunday night something exploded inside him.
"He was very disappointed and sad. He didn't want it to end this way."
....
The father of Marco Materazzi believed his son was the real victim in the incident.
"I spoke to my son briefly after the game," said Giuseppe Materazzi.
"Marco had told me he had been provoked. It's as though they have something against him each time.
"In the past two years, Marco has only been on the receiving end and the injuries he has sustained are proof of this.
"I don't want to be controversial, but there are things that have to be said instead of just pointing the finger and putting a black mark against someone."
The article is longer on the website but i have only included interesting bits on and not put on Gallas and Viera's comments since it would be too long then.
