Who cares? You just showed who you are with the other thread by asking people to shut up.

World is full of Materazzi and his followers.

Just a little aside to all of those registering in discussion in these threads:

if you cannot argue your point with dignity, do not post.
if you cannot accept other people's viewpoints, do not post.
if you provoke a member, you are just as bad as Materazzi.
if you react to a member, you are just as bad as Zidane.

any more insults, members will be warned and this thread will be closed

anyways, whatever Materazzi said it was very offensive, because I've watched Zidane at club level for a very long time, including the national team and he does have outbursts from time to time, for example I remember in a game when he was playing for real madrid, a player came from behind him and cut across his legs lipping him upside down, while in the air he kicked the guy right in the face .

anyways, he is my fav player, and as much as I wanted Italy to beat France, the celebrations were sad to see a legend like him leave like that and I put disgust on both Zidane and Materazzi for acting like that in such an important situation.

the bottom line is, if the insult was racist, and proved to be, Materazzi should simply be banned from football, as unlikely as that might seem, it is the right thing to do to set not only an example but punish him for provoking a legend out of his career in a miserable way.

This is true, He was arrogant! Cannavaro came close to him to show his concern when his shoulder was injured and he didn't even look at him!
What the hell was wrong with him that day?! Was he in a war or something?!? Was he mentally involved or what?!

Nothing would lessen his capabilities on the field and as a player. He is in my all time 11 players list. I am a fan of his skills forever, but not his temper.

He was absolutely arrougant and co-cky that day. I watched the scene 5 times and what Materazzi said seemed true. I just wanna know what bad words he called Zidane.

You showed before you are biased. I don't blame you to see every thing negative on a player who suffer your beloved team the most. What I saw was "he was the best player of the pitch till he ruled out".

BTW, In your book Daei must be the most "khaki" player with that huggggggggge ruge carrying around.

who cares if the ref calls it a foul or not, every player has a breaking point with annoyance from a certian player...that specific italian player is always playing dirty, maybe it pissed him off late in the game....its a part of football, but a dirty part of it, and knowing from experience i been in sum ****ed up conversation with defender for playing like that, its part of the sport...but no one likes it.

btw the biased Italian fans r quite funny in here =D Zidane is not innocent, but theres NO WAY that defender is innocent, in any form or shape

It's sad that if someone's name is Zidane or Karimi, they can so whatever shit they want! and people like Samba and Haji back them up!

                            It's sad and shameful.

VivaItalia look at Zidane and look at Materazzi man, Materazzi is renowned as a dirty player, Zidane is a humble player i dont think just cuz he held zidanes shirt thats why he headbutted him, come on be realistic how many defenders have held his shirt bought him down for a foul or a penalty? ALOT, materazzi did more then hold his shirt to get a reaction like that from ZIDANE.

at first i thought zizou was waiting for the ref to leave and that he had made up his mind about hittin the guy, but when you look at the tape, he is just joggin back and yet at the same time listening to materazzi, but I guess the last thing he said ticked him off really bad so then suddenly he turned around and did wat he did; Zizou is retiring, so i guess any punishment for him would be pointless, but Materazzi should be punished, but he wont, because Zizou wont say wat he said exactly (his agent said it himself).
