in that line of thinking i would be deserving to say that Zidane needs to be locked up in a mental hospital

Oh really ... let's see if you yourself can stay calm and all good and dandy if someone confronted you with similar comments. I am willing to bet around 70-80% of people will jump if not fly in to punch and kick the other guy.

Have you played it before? FYI, it's part of the game! and there is a ref to call it a foul or not.
If your looking for what instigated the conflict it is Materazis pulling on Zidane as it lead to Zidanes comment. To make it simple if you are not following so far had Materazi never pulled on Zidane none of the other events would have taken place.

Holding is also not allowed in football which is why players are often penalized for doing so. Its a dirty tactic which materazi was using in the first place, to make up for his obvious lack of talent.

English sources on what really caused the incident http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixQhKg3D2_s as upposed to what the biased italy fans state was the cause.

khabalood, first of all materazzi had a great tournament, won a MOM award, won the WC and he plays at inter for years, so no leak of talent..

second, matterazi played an almost perfect game, thats why zidane got mad,
he couldnt move an inch without being defended..

third shirtpulling happens in EVERY match, pretty pethetic to call matterazi not talented for pulling shirt at a freekick or corner..

fourth, zidane started acting like this the whole evening not even smiling when shaking hand at the begining, while canavaro was very friendly, how do say it, mahal nazasht! at the begining of extra time he just walked away, didnt even shake hands with referee OR canavaro, very ****y..

there is no way matterazi started this, get over it

I guess you are in denial calling a great guy arrogant. It seems you don't remember the beautiful moment of France/Portugal match scene when the two captains exchange their jersey and as a matter of fact wore them, showed how arrogant they are.

              Just to remind you:

It's funny, you still fill hurt from your mis-judment about Daei and try to point at Karimi for your misjudment. baba, it was no one fault when Daei decided to continue but himself, don't try to change the subject.

BTW, what happend to Mirza's transfer? if he gets lucky maybe EsEs Ahvaz gets him. You wanna be in the winner side, follow the path and quote my posts with "eyval" comment.

I don't know how you can call "looking at someone" as provoking. But for your information this is what BBC reported:

The BBC's Ten O'Clock News also called in experts to study the television footage of the incident and determined the following:

Materazzi's first word to Zidane was "no" before he then told him to "calm down".

He then accused him of being a "liar" and wished "an ugly death to you and your family" on the day the Frenchman's mother had been taken to hospital ill. This was followed by "Go f*** yourself".

                ------------
Still , Zidan should not have acted the way he did.

Surely Materazzi started it all with the girly pinch to poor Zidane's nipple...

I mean, what had Zidane's nipple ever done to Marco? And never mind about an ugly death to his family...more importantly, after about 110 minutes of nipple rub against those nasty polyester shirts, that nipple gripple has really gotta hurt!

From the videos I have seen of Materazi he is an extremely dirty player. A talented player would not need to stoop to such dirty tactics in order to be effective.

Your second point is ridiculous. Moments before Zidane had an incredibly header on goal, without a defender to be found around him. So much for your moving an inch theory.

Shirt pulling is illigal. Now had Zidane been an panty waste player like c. ronaldo and took a few dives when his shirt was pulled, Materazi would have been penalized for his actions.

Your last point is just hilarious. Zidane not shaking cannavaros hand is a wrong action on his part and caused the incident. Whereas materazi pulling, pinching and swearing at Zidane was all in fair play.

I have a questions for Italy fans. What dont you guys admit and aknowledge that fact materrazi is a dirty player, crazy, mentally ill and plays violently? It looks like the majority of the people on PFDC agree on my point except a few biased italian fans...

I personally think, Zidane's retaliation to Materazzi remarks was deeper than just a loss of self control. We all have played tough games. We all know how frustrating games may be. But has any one here ever inflicted such a hard first punch?

Zidane has never had blow out episodes like Roony has. He is a very balanced player. Beside he was not under any abnormal pressure in that game. Especially since France outplayed Italy for about 60 min.

                            Guardian’s journalist Kevin McCarra wrote:

If these “suggestions” are confirmed, that red card will tell a completely different story. Still a “stupid reaction” according to the FIFA’s rules maybe, Zidane’s act will be remembered as the most human reaction to racism and hypocrisy. He won’t be anymore the fake “hero” praised by the business-corrupted football circus but something way far more important: a man of moral integrity who didn’t sell himself and didn’t compromise for a golden cup, the money coming from it and a glossed image a world of strangers enjoyed.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

Materazzi is shit...goh...an...whatever you wanna call him. I agree with you.

But Zidane is stupid, out-of control and needs anger management therapy. end of it. It's not like it was his first time doing it, was it?! and if you back him up again, I won't be surprized cuz it's not your first time being biased and applying double standards.

and in Zidane vs. Materazzi battle, Materazzi OWNED him!

I think Italians are good at winding people up and Materizze is no exception. I see no true in his word and he is most likely to have insulted ZZ in a way that he headbut him. If i was in place of ZZ and Materizze insult my mother I would brak his ****ing jaws and break his tooth. The hell with the result.
