    QPR land Zesh Rehman

    http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?...Fulham+stopper

Queens Park Rangers have replaced Danny Shittu by signing Zesh Rehman from Fulham.

The Championship club sold Shittu to Watford over the weekend and have acted quickly to bring in another centre half after striking a deal for Rehman.

The 22-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with QPR after struggling to hold down a first-team place at Craven Cottage.

Rehman was happy to drop down a division to move to Loftus Road and is looking forward to the chance to play regularly.

"I went down to Harlington yesterday and spoke with Gary Waddock and I was really impressed with what I heard," Rehman told the club's official website.

"He told me he wants to help me improve as a player and that's what I want.

"All I want to do is play football - the money doesn't interest me any more.

"I could have sat at Fulham and just been happy to pick up my wages, but that's not what I am all about."

The defender made 30 appearances during his Fulham career, but spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich City.

Swansea City had been keen on signing the stopper earlier in the summer, but gave up the pursuit, with Rehman now having secured a deal to stay in London.
Good for Zesh. I feel QPR will give him a first team spot. that way he can represent Pakistan in the odd international and be happy his place in QPR is safe, maybe he will play the remaining three qualifiers after the Pak-Oman game on 16th Aug, even if they wont do much for Pakistan's qualifying chances in my mind.

Actually he has already played four times for Pakistan last year

But lack of first team football at Fulham/Norwich made him prefer staying and fighting for his club place thus ignoring the AFC Challenge Cup and the first two Asian Cup qualifiers.

I hope we can (and 'can' is the ideal word) beat Oman first to get plenty of confidence for the last three qualifiers, hell it would be a miracle if Pakistan were to magically win all four games and QUALIFY for the Asian Cup for the very first time

If Pakistan can somehow, someway, reach the Asian Cup...football interest here will EXPLODE !!! Then we can rely on another sport apart from Field Hockey, Squash, and Cricket to get sporting glory !!!

it would be great! we dont need UAE cheaters in asian cup. On the asian soccer website I saw that Pakistan was 1:0 in front against UAE. Why did UAE then scored 4 times?

Yeah...we actually scored in the 70th minute. Now was it a case of our defence suddenly panicking because of the lead and defending it, or a case of UAE awakening to their full potential...no one really knows. UAE then scored 4 in the last 15 minutes or so.

Pakistan's Bahraini coach, Salman Ahmed Sharida, did say in an interview later on that the players lack of proper fitness and experience cost them from a shock victory

I swear to god i love that paki, not everyday you see someone from pakistan or india playing football due to the fact they love cricket and hockey but he's only a kid and i love the fact he played for pakistan NT.

He was the only middle-eastern in the premiership (although i don't like saying jews are middle eastern).

Inshallah Pakistan qualify for AC and then Iran can kick some ass lol Suprah

                      Indeed my friend...Inshallah.

Oh and btw, two days back Zeshan Rehman made his debut and played the full game that was a 2-0 win for QPR over Southend United. So hey, he must have given a nice defensive display.

                        ..

Ahmed Mido of Tottenham is "middle-eastern" (Egypt) and played in the premiership...he was awesome, but too bad he's a tool and can't get along with his national team....Striker Michael Chopra who was on England U20 is half white-half Indian (South Asian) and played for Newcastle last year...Teymourian will be the next Persian in the premiership...
