Theyve signed Walcott but god knows when he'll develop.
Btw Arsenal is considered by many one of th seediest clubs in English soccer. In 1919 for example they finished 5th in the second division, but some how they got promoted to the first division (At the expense of Tottenham of course).
The reason i hate discussing european soccer with iranians is because its because eeeeeeeeeveryones favourite team is Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter, Ac, Arsenal, Man u etc (the big teams with lots of moneys). Its like i wanted to talk baseball with everyone except everyone is either a redsox or yankee fan. Just because u guys start screaming ARSENAAAAAAAL IS THE GREATEST every time the win a game doesnt make u a fan. How bout u guys actually pick a team outside G 14. You know those clubs that dont have 3000 billion pound bank. The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer. ~Edward R. Murrow

mf_doom jan,
I don't think it should be any of your concern what teams people support or the motives behind them. If you like Tottenham, support Tottenham. I'm not holding a gun to your head or telling you "TOTTENHAM? Why support a team that hasn't won anything in a long time? What's the point?"
Well, the point is, you like them and that's that. Let's stop hating on other teams. We all have our preferences, and yes, foreigners like those big teams b/c it is those teams that are regularily televised.
Lastly, this is a thread for ARSENAL fans. You can make your own thread about Tottenham and rave about them all you want, I personally would have no problem with it, although I'm not saying i'd post in that thread
Let's be reasonable and tolerable when it comes to other people instead of forcing our own agendas on others. We all have different preferences, let's just let it goWe thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

Although i am not a Man Utd fan i would like to let you know one thing....Scholes, Neville, Brown, Rooney, Richardson, Carrick and Ferdinand are all English players, so get your facts straight.
Also with Arsenal it is only in the rescent few years that the English players have withered out, not so long ago Arsenal had the entire England defence, some midfield and an England striker in their squad. You are rite, rite now Arsenal dont have much but who cares man that is football, the better players are selected.
I would also like to let you know the amount of English players that have started at Arsenal that have later gone to become great players or are still here. Pennant, Cole, Hoyte, Walcott, Jeffers, Upson, Bentley, Adams, Seeman, Ian Wright, Richard Wright, Stuart Taylor, Campbell, Dixon, Keown, Parlour. Some being the greatesh English players ever to play the game.
You ever thought that some ppl may go for a team due to there own reasons?? Not just to jump on the bandwagon. Just becasue u go for a team that fails to producwe doesnt make u a holy citizen bro.
I go for Arsenal becasue i am a big fan of dutch football. Which is the reason for my love of all my teams around the world.
Arsenal: Bergkamp, Overmars
Barcalona: Reizigar, De Boers, Gio, Kluivert, Overmars
Milan: Rijkaard, Gullit, Seedorf and of course the king Van Basten
Also dont forget Arsenal does not have the biggest bank accout, they have a coach who has always made the rite buys. Your beloved Tottenham probably spend more money on players then Arsenal has in the last few years.
Also u can shove the G14 becasue i am against it.

Scholes is retired from international football, Gary Neville is on his way out, Jamie Carrick is going ot be a bit above average at best and the rest of the players you mentioned baaaaaaarely get any playing time. So congrats you have a bunch of young english players that barely get to see the pitch. I mentioned ferdinand and rooney so cant exactly try to use that.
On the case of the "great" english players; wow i definitly take back that "Knowledge" comment.
-Pennant? LOOOOOOOOL. He had 12 appearance for Arsenal and scored 3 goals. WOW. I CANT BELIEVE HE DIDNT WIN ANY AWARDS. And if his so bloody amazing how come he hasnt done anyhting worth notice (other that getting busted for a DUI)
- Walcott/ Hoyte? Trying to insult my intelligence? Walcott is a looong way from doing anyhtig, same with hoyte
-The rest of the players you mentioned were great but havent put on the colours of arsenal in years.
Its not that i hate people who like the g14 clubs. I do believe there are such fans out there. But half of them are like milad who dont really know anthing about the club. Look imagine this. You are a baseball fan, But you find out that everyone you know is either a Yankee/Dodger/Red Sox fan. How fun is it to talk to these people? Not alot. Thats the one thing that North American fans always respect; they have ONE team and ONE team only. If they have fav player on another team, ok theyll be glad he does well. But they dont list him the entire bloody team is favourites.
and your comments on Dutch football? I was weaned on the dutch international team. My moms part dutch (my dads where im iranian) so from an early age i was told who Johan Cruyff is. I was the only kid in the school who thought Johan Cruyff was the best soccer player ever. I too the "Flying Dutchmens" too (Gullit, Van Basten and Rijkaard) but that doesnt mean im gonna start thinking of myself as an AC MILAN fan. That wold be retarded.
On arsene wenger; i personally think he is the second greatest coach in the history of the game. I know about his frugal spendings. He has made some brilliant moves (albiet some retarded ones too; Cygan anyone?). However you cannot discount that entirelly gigantic bank account arsenal has. While they do try to play it smart, they can outbid others like the best of them.
Finallly I do not think of myself as a "holy bro" because i support tottenham. I just seem myself as someone who doesnt just latch on to a team that does the best. Look its great if you are a fan of Real Madrid, but f u king make sure thats your team. Stick by them. Dont jump onto another team just because they are enjoying success. Thats all im saying. Im sorry if it seemed like i was trying to insutl everyon. Its just that i get reeeeally pissed of when i see "teams: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona" etc etc.The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer. ~Edward R. Murrow

The point is bro that i do go for some big teams and i gave u a perfectly legitimate reason. Why do u go for Tottenham??
I am a fan of dutch football and every since i was around 6-7 yrs old i love all footballing things dutch. Personally i think this is a more then good enough reason to support certain clubs.
Also your arguement changed somewhere along the line man, i dont care for players who represent England the point of this is players who are actually English nationality. it doesnt matter what level they are at.
And u laugh at Pennant, i was simply naming him becasue he is now doing well at Liverpool. My point is that Wenger has brought up a few players that have become good players.
