TEHRAN, August 25 (ISNA)-Iranian athlete and holder of Asian Discus Throw record, was elected for the Asian all star track and field team so to participate in the 10th world track and field Olympics is Athena.
Ehsan Hadadi, won a gold medal at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Grosseto, becoming the first male Iranian to win a medal at any global athletics competition. In 2005 he won the Asian Championships with a personal best throw of 65.25 meters.
When 19-year-old Ehsan Hadadi released a 62.14 meters throw to clinch gold in the Discus Throw final at the IAAF World Junior Championships at Grosseto he not only became a hero for his country he also became a hero for the sport of athletics.
Born and raised in Teheran, Hadadi became the first man from Iran to win a medal at any global athletics competition following a superb competition in which he took the lead with his third round effort of 60.01.
