predrag mijatovic is just playing the usual mind games. it was exactly the same way for real a few years back, when they were winning the league year in year out. as long as a team is successful, they will always have such comments thrown at them. btw, i hated his greasy hair, does he still keep it like that?

i expect no less than for us to draw.
MADRID: Barcelona and Real Madrid renew their historic and bitter rivalry on Sunday with the European champions once again in pole position in the battle for Spanish supremacy.
Barcelona lead the league by three points after just seven games and, are the only unbeaten team in the Spanish first division, while Real Madrid languish in fifth and are five points adrift. If Barcelona win, it will be boost the Catalans’ ambitions of lifting a third consecutive La Liga title. Should Real get revenge for the humiliation of being thrashed 3-0 in front of their own fans last year then the title race will become wide open once more. However, both teams have had their confidence shaken in the past week. Real crashed 1-0 at Getafe on Saturday, a performance described by their goalkeeper Iker Casillas as, “the worst he can remember in his time at Real,” but they bounced back to beat Steaua Bucharest 4-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“We are going to beat Barca. We are going to win the league. We are the best team in the world. We are champions, there is no team we can’t beat,” said Real president Ramon Calderon after the win over Steaua. By contrast, Barca were on top form in their 3-1 win over Sevilla on Sunday, with World Player of the Year Ronaldinho playing some of his best football since last season, but they came unstuck in the Champions League and lost 1-0 at Chelsea on Wednesday. “We didn’t play as well as we can do against Chelsea but we will run ourselves into the grave to pull off a win against Madrid,” said Barca’s Portuguese winger Deco.
Both clubs could be without key players on Sunday. Barcelona captain Carles Puyol sustained a back strain against Chelsea while Real’s Jose Maria Gutierrez has a sprained left ankle. David Beckham also has a painful right knee and may be left on the bench yet again, more as a precaution than a tactical move by Real coach Fabio Capello. Real will also be without Ronaldo, who is banned after being sent off against Getafe. To understand why there is such a strong rivalry between two clubs more than 600 kilometres apart, one has to be a historian as much as a football fan. There has been traditional distrust between Barcelona’s home region of Catalonia and the Spanish capital for centuries and the schism between the two football clubs started to widen in the 1920s. The hatred then became entrenched during the rule of the fascist dictator Franco, who came to power in 1936.
Catalonia was the main region of resistance to his rule and Barcelona’s home matches were often the only place when Catalan could be openly spoken and Franco’s enforcers dared not go. Franco, no great football fan, also found it convenient to openly support Real Madrid during their legendary era when they won five consecutive European Cups between 1956 and 1960. Even though Franco died in 1975, the rivalry lives on as a legacy of his rule. Beyond the match involving Spain’s big two, Valencia and Atletico Madrid are second and third respectively in the league.
Both teams are on 13 points and have a chance to take over at the top if Barcelona lose in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Valencia play host to Osasuna on Sunday and confidence is sky-high after their 2-0 win in the Champions League over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. Atletico have a tricky trip to Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday. In the wake of the long term injuries sustained by Maxi Rodriguez and Martin Petrov during the last week, Atletico coach Javier Aguirre has been forced to adjust his midfield. Mista Ferrer may be used down the right wing rather than as a target man while Costinha and Peter Luccin could be asked to be the midfield playmakers. afp

i haven't heard anything about stankovic, but i know that sinisa mihajlovic is a racist prick.
it was most probably mijatovic who said that, maybe milosevic but he didn't play as much and mijatovic at the time was the main striker. sounds like something he would say
thanks for the article, suprah. those words are going to come back and bite calderon on the ass! he will be lucky if real make the cl again next season the way they're going

the worst??? he obviously has a bad memory, looks like someone forgot 3-0 against barca at home

mihajlovic is officially a racist..
didnt he spit on viera and call him black b*stard or something??
and i dont think it was milosevic or savicevic for that matter, i think it was mijatovic..
i also remember how the fool took a penalty shot for yugoslavia against holland i think and like a dumb retard just went and blindly blasted the ball which hit the post and didnt go in..
eventually yugoslavia lost to netherlands 2-1 in that game (by a late edgar davids long range blast if im not mistaken) and yugoslavia was eliminated from the worldcup..
i always hated the guy, the only ever important contribution of his i remember was his goal in the finals of champions league for real madrid against juventus in 1998 i think and they won that game 1-0. he hadnt scored in the champions league before that...
another player like him now is zlatan..he only has skills but more than skills, he has attitude and selfishness in him..i hate such players..they are all talk, no play!

zlatan is indeed all talk, but mido annoys the hell out of me too. i remember he threw a pair of scissors at zlatan in the changing room when they were both at ajax both have the biggest egos!
yep, mihajlovic called him a black monkey. i forget what fully happened, but mihajlovic claims he was provoked by viera who he said called him a gypsy, so he called viera a black monkey
ironically after davids scored the equaliser againser yugoslavia, while players were celebrating van der sar and bogarde got into an argument and apparantly it had something to do with racism....hmmmm
do any of the real merda fans know the starting line up for this game?
