i've read rumours about eto'o not wanting to sign a new contract and that he's leaving for another club this summer..doesn't make sense to me, since he's playing amazing at barca right now and i still remember he kissed the emblem on the jersey after getting subbed out in the madrid game

of course he loves barca and hes doing great but this has long been overdue, its time for him to move on, he's been creating unnecessary news in media and has had problems with coach/players etc.
Its best for him to leave after this season when he wins the treble

Villa is slightly better than him IMO.

i don't know, he has 23 league goals in 22 games
how many does villa have this season?

if anyone leaves, my guess would be henry, and probably replaced with ribery or aguero. i'm still hoping for c. ronaldo though lol

bot of them will leave after this season.
Villa scored 18 goals in 22 games, for a Valencia side much weaker than barca.
He is IMO more impressive than Etoo.
Most of Etoo's goals have been haded to him on the plate by our strong attacking line but Villa is an "inventor".

actually eto o is also an inventor. didnt you see his 2nd goal vs betis? but yea when you have messiah and xavi passing to you have a huge advantage. plus, i have seen him miss many easy chances. but then again so has villa.

Eto'o misses LOADS of sitters. He makes the hard ones and scuffs the easy ones.

its hard to know how he has such an amazing goal ratio since joining barcelona. most of his goals were created by ronaldinho, messi, xavi, iniesta... but still thats impressive. but when you look at his ratio for cameroon it leaves much to be desired. but then it makes you wonder how the hell daniel guiza was pichichi when he played in mallorca. he also missed a lot of sitters and sucks. even crystiana scored like around 15 goals in the league (from open play). i guess goal/game ratio isnt as reliable as it seems. see even though eto o has a slightly better ratio than ruud i think ruud is better at scoring.

Ratio with Cameroon leaves much to be desired?? He's the all time topscorer of the African Cup of Nations! He's been topscorer of the last two editions.

well he is good for cameroon compared to others but his ratio for cameroon is half as good as his barca ratio.

Club is usually better than country for almost all players.

He had just hit top form again.

It's not a huge absence for the team but I'm worried he's getting too many injuries in a short time span.

Any Team That Depends On One Player Is Not A True Team - Barcelona's Messi

Messi admits that he is looking ahead now, rather than at the disappointment of last year...

Lionel Messi has told UEFA.com that any team that depends on one player are "not a true footballing team".

The Argentine was responding to claims that Barcelona depend on him for creativity and in his typical modest way, said that he is "just one member of the attack. Any team that depends on just one player can't be a true football team".

Nevertheless, Messi has been one of the brightest sparks for Barcelona this season and has helped to lift them to the top of La Primera, ten points clear of Real Madrid.

He says that his side are fighting just as hard for domestic silverware as they are for European, and that he hopes things go well this year for them.

"I don't have any preference, or let's say that priorities will be set along the way as we progress, based on how we perform in each of these tournaments. You can't tell until the moment comes. But I will say that Barcelona will fight just as hard to win both titles, as long as we still have a chance to do so," he mused.

"I hope things go our way. Despite all the speculation and talk of our downfall that we heard last year, we still managed to get to the Champions League semi-finals. And, had we advanced as far as the final, the story would have been very different."

Certainly Barcelona's season would have been looked back on more favourably, but as it was the year was considered a disaster by most of the fans.

For Messi too it was not the greatest year, as he missed the quarter-finals of the Champions League through injury. Nevertheless, he says that he is now looking forward to the future, rather than looking back at the past.

"It was one of the saddest moments I've experienced in my career so far. I wouldn't wish it to happen to anyone. And last year I had to go through that kind of thing several times. That's the reason I reacted so badly the moment I picked up the injury to my thigh," he admitted.

"I put that behind me from the very first moment. I'm not someone who lives stuck in the past. The only important thing for me is that Barcelona have huge challenges ahead of us."
