verrry close game against Manchester Utd. ended up going into extra time, with Didier Drogbas goal in the 116th min, it made the difference! w00t Chelsea wins 1-0!
Today wasnt United's day, you had yours when Chelsea played Arsenal and we had ours today
Yeap...wasnt our day today (it started wrong as well with lack of attacking intent) but hey, this is football. It happens.
Congrats to Chelsea - the match was stale and boring apart from the odd moment here and there, but they grinded out the result when no one was expecting all thanks to Drogba.
question for EPL followers:
which is more important, the FA cup, League cup (im assuming this is the least important), or the league championship?
More simply, the Premiership is the most important trophy in England while the FA Cup has its prestige and history in being the oldest football competition and still going strong so yeah if one cant win the Premiership they may want to win the FA Cup.
Hey winning the league is more important in today's football around europe.
As far as the League Cup goes, its what I call a "Meh trophy" although I was happy when United won it last season - esp. after the 04/05 trophyless season that ended with heart-breaking loss in the FA Cup final when we hammered Arsenal beyond recognition but couldnt get the goal and lost to penalties.
Some people just call the League Cup the "Mickey Mouse Cup" for it being a competition where most EPL sides send their reserve and youth squads to play in.
