since geremi and essien had experience taking over for defence last year, he also used Diarra as a right back once, but for sure Essien-Carvalho as the two centre backs if JT is injured, and Bouhlarouz is out on a loan i believe

wait a minute! we still have Tal ben Haim from Bolton! he can also be a CB

we were very unlucky last year when it came to defence, Terry injuries, especially the Cech injurie

John Terry, Arjen Robben, Claude Makelele, Michael Essien, Andrei Shevchenko and Paulo Ferreira all sat out training yesterday. Lassana Diarra, John Obi Mikel and Salomon Kalou are also carrying injuries while Michael Ballack, Wayne Bridge and Ashley Cole have longer-term problems.

Chelsea are working really fast to get Alex's work permit ready.

Everyone says Chelsea is ready for the CL or the EPL next season.

But that can be said for any other team. Look at Barcelona and Manchester United, they look deadly in the pre-season matches.

so basically, Chelsea is just upgrading to meet the standards.

It says that there will be an appeal for Alex's work permit August 2 (which would be "tomorrow" in some places)

I hope Alex gets his work permit, we really need him at the moment

WOW! IT looks like Daniel Alves is going to be coming to stamford bridge as well! Chelsea are going to use the money from the sale of Robben in the deal. This is the first time that I actually want Robben to leave.

we have too many left wingers at the moment, and none of them deserve to be benched, so i think it may be Robbens time to leave

in the mean time, i actually would take SWP out of that lineup i posted earlier and let the number2 guy, Johnson take that spot against MAnu, seeing as we have NOBODY available for the community shield

i donno though , i have a feeling about Sinclair, I would try him over Pizaaro, then bring Pizarro into the second half, might be more effective

Mourinho can either use SWP and Malouda as strikers as well. I think Sinclair will play probably last 10 minutes if Chelsea are winning. But I won't mind if Sinclair plays half of the game, he is still good. But if I was Mourinho and I wanted Pizarro taken off, I would move Malouda up to striker and sub on Joe Cole.

I read that Claude Makelele, Michael Essien, John Terry, Arjen Robben, Andriy Shevchenko and Lassana Diarra are probably going to be back into training and might play in the game.

Wayne Bridge and Michael Ballack won't recover in time for the game.

United don't have Gary Neville and strikers Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
