Rooney just tries too hard. The kind of player who wants to do everything but forgets his real task - scoring goals.

Though he certainly has had an insane amount of assists for the past 2 seasons. So no complaints from me.

Exactly. Rooney tries to be everywhere on the field. Its been alright for us considering we have players like ronaldo and tevez to score the goals instead of rooney.
Although Rooney still plays a great part of the squad, as suprah said gives MANY assists plus scores a good amount of goals as well.

EDIT: Plus, Although rooney isnt the striker that scores every game, the guy has a good eye for goal, if he gets a chance he can finish like any other striker.
