interesting that this was your FIRST penalty conceded the whole season... good defending or fishy refs? that is the question.

we had a shit load of penalties NOT given to us all season if that's what you mean compared to 3-4 close calls for other sides - but its good defending mostly. Hell even today's penalty was debatable as Carrick was NOT deliberately trying to handle the cross as it was straight at his body but the linesman had other ideas.

Such refereeing cost us in the FA Cup against Portsmouth (we had TWO solid penalties NOT given that day and Portsmouth got theirs and won the game), THREE calls against Blackburn not given (one of which was a handball on the goal line ffs !!!!), Barcelona the same way with another not given after the initial one. and even today we had a call turned down after Ballack PUSHED Ronaldo during a United corner.

Because of those stupidities at Blackburn, referee Rob Styles was axed from the EPL to ref League Two games for crying out loud.

I disagree. Our captain Gary Neville has only played ONCE in the last 14 months, Mikael Silvestre has only played 2 games in 7 months, Paul Scholes was out for 5 weeks, a few months for Park Ji-Sung as well as Owen Hargreaves, Rooney for a month early on, and Ronaldo had a 3 game ban for a stupid headbutt. And Saha our ONLY genuine striker ? well the damn guy is made of glass !!!

How about all the bs penalties MAn U gets called for them? The first time this year the reffering goes against you guys and all man u does is complain when you don't get your way.

Better question: why did he take Anderson off for John O'Shea in central midfield when United were actually on top in the 2nd half and looked they were going to score soon ??

Then again, apparently Anderson had gotten a slight injury which he didnt want to risk for the Barcelona after what had happened to Vidic (Drogba's knee hitting him on the chin causing a broken tooth to go straight through his lip - not given a foul by the ref ) and Rooney again getting clattered in the hip bone area.

I guess he wants to make sure all players are as fresh as they can be for the Barcelona game and the 2 games that lie ahead (minus the CL final provided we beat Barca )
