    Bad news:

The Madonnina derby defeat at the hands of Inter wasn’t the only bad news from a complicated Sunday afternoon for AC Milan.
Unfortunately for the Rossoneri Paolo Maldini cracked his left knee’s external meniscus and will be out for at least one and a half months.
The former Italy international was already struggling with a knee problem, and the two consecutive matches against Celtic in the Champion League and Inter in the Italian league worsened the situation.
Some additional scans will be made in the next few hours, but Maldini is very likely to need a surgery.
Pundits put Belgian surgeon Marc Martens in pole position to take care of Maldini’s meniscus, being one of – if not the – top specialist in Europe.
Yesterday Maldini, now nearly 39, played his 600th game in Serie A, of which 53 appearances were in the tense Milan derby.
He’s still uncertain about future plans. After such a blow the fact that Maldini could retire at the end of the season is more than possible.
Maldini started playing Serie A football in 1985when he was only 17. His first match was at Fiuli Stadium, Udine, the result being Udinese-Milan 1-1.

Berlusconi: "Good Possibilities" To Bring Ronaldinho To Milan

The Milan President had no problems admitting that the Brazilian star is a very possible target for the Rossoneri who could join the Italian club this summer from Barcelona.

As always, Silvio Berlusconi did not beat round the bush when asked by journalists whether Ronaldinho would be joining AC Milan this summer after months of speculation, as the former Italian Prime-minister stated what every Rossoneri fan was hoping to hear.

"Maybe, let's say that there are good possibilities," revealed without hesitation the Rossoneri's President.

Berlusconi is renowned for succeeding in achieving his targets and considering that he publicly declared the interest in obtaining the services of Ronaldinho, chances are high that he may succeed in his intent.

If the Barcelona player joins the Italian club, he would form an extraordinary partnership with fellow Brazilians Kaka, Olivera and Ronaldo in a bid to re-claim the Italian league title from Inter and return to the glory days in Europe.

What a double standard by Milan management!! They can talk and dine with Ronadinho's agent about his move to Milan, but if Real Madrid talks about a possible Kaka transfer, then they bash the Madrid management in the media..

Milan move closer to Samba star RonaldinhoSoccernet

Ronaldinho is one step closer to a sensational move to Italian giants AC Milan, after his brother and agent met Rossoneri officials, according to reports in the Corriere dello Sport.

Roberto Assis flew to Milan to speak with another of his clients, Milan's Ricardo Oliveira, after the striker's kidnapped sister was found alive and well; but also found time to dine with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani and sporting director Ariedo Braida, where they discussed Ronaldinho's future.

The Brazilian, who is under contract until 2011, has yet to be persuaded that his future lies away from the Nou Camp; but an agreement over personal terms is believed to have been reached in a report on the Channel 4 website.

'Barcelona deserve all our respect, there are no problems and we have an excellent relationship with them,' Assis was quoted as saying.

'My brother, however, cannot deny that he likes Milan. There are many Brazilian players here who form a family and always welcome him warmly, how could you not do the same?'

Galliani, who confronted Real Madrid over their open courting of Kaka in the summer, did not shed any more light on the situation, although made it clear that the Samba star would be welcomed in Milan.

'I don't want to put pressure on anyone, Ronaldinho still has three years on his contract and I don't think there are any problems with the club,' he stated.

'If he decides to change he knows that Milan are here, ready to welcome him, but I do not want another Kaka situation.'

President and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, also made it clear that he would like to see Ronaldinho at the Rossoneri:

'Ronaldinho could join us and there is a good chance that this will happen,' he said.

It's not a double standard! Ask me and I explain you the story.

Milan has been talking to his club. Milan knows how to approach things, plus, they have an excellent realationship with Barca. Unlike Milan, Real (the ultimate unprofessional manegement!) tried to approach Kaka and talk to his agent rather than contacting his club! This is against the rules to contact a on-contract player and moron Real manegemnt should know that (of course they know it, but they were trying to be smart ass and convinced the player to put pressure on his club for a move (like what Chelsea did to Sheva), but they farted!)

Milan will be the team to beat next season. You guys better switch to Milan ASAP!

Milan is dependant on Brazillian players after their slump.

Kaka is their savior. Even though I'd want Kaka at Inter or Madrid, I think he fits right into Milan.

But bringing Ronaldinho in is just wayyy too desperate. Start making a solid team instead of buying superstars and becoming like the old Real Madrid which wasn't successful at all.

Great point Persianmadrid.. Milan is trying to copy what Real did a few yrs but wont be successful. Milan is desperate to attract fans worldwide by buying "Brazilina superstars" such as Ronaldo and Ronadinho...

                  Brazil all the way...

Milan will never become a disappointing Real. Milan's manager and owner (Galliani and Berlusconi) have been among the most successful in the world (just look how many trophies they won) and they know what they are doing.

Currently, Milan doesn't have so many superstars on the bench. The team in consisting of/depending on WC winners (Pirlo, Gatusso, Gila, Oddo and Pipo), Brazilian Ace (Kaka), New arrived Ronaldo, an under development Bonerra and a few good but not excellent players. This is far from what Real did a few years ago, benching all sort of superstars and making them unhappy.

With the addition of Dinho, Milan will get much stronger. Dinho is not going to take any particular player's space, so there won't be any friction in the team. Ancelotti may have to change his system to somthing else to accomodate this new addition.

Maldini and Costacorta most likely say bye. So I think he might use a 3 deffender system like this:

------------Dida (I hate him, it's official! He gives too many blunders)----
                    ----------Oddo-------------Bonera------------Kaladze---------
                    --------------Gattuso--------Pirlo--------Seedorf-----------
                    --------------Kaka-------------------Ronaldinho--------------
                    -------------------Gilardino------Ronaldo-------------------

Plus, there are rumors that Milan is after Luca Toni

No, Milan doesn't want Robinho. He is not a Euro based player. Plus, he is a bum just like Adriano! screw him.

Viva, Oddo and Kaladze are prone to attacking from the sides leaving the defense with only Nesta.

Giving all the problems Milan already has right now defensively I'd keep a 4 man defense.

Leaving Ronaldo or Gilardino on their own is enough.

You are right. That was just a thought. Rino and Pirlo consistantly help the deffence, so whenever Oddo moves up, Rino covers his place.

I never liked the 3 men diffence but it can be an option.
