So much for your hopes of replacing Gilardino. Toni should have gone to Juventus.

Italian star Toni signs for Bayern

        AFP | April 28, 2007

MUNICH, Germany (AFP) - Bayern Munich have signed Italian World Cup winner Luca Toni from AC Fiorentina in a deal worth 18 million euros, it was reported on Saturday.
The 29-year-old striker, who has scored 12 goals in 27 internationals, has signed a five-contract and will reportedly earn 5.5 million euros per season according to German magazine Sport-Bild.

The forward is believed to have made his decision on Friday evening and chosen the German giants over European rivals AC Milan, Juventus Turin and Inter Milan, who were also bidding for his signature.

Having been part of Italy's 2006 World Cup squad, Toni scored two goals in the quarter-finals win over the Ukraine and scored both goals in Italy's 2-0 victoey against Scotland in last month's Euro 2008 Qualifier.

Fourth-placed Bayern are also courting German international Miroslav Klose, from their Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen, and last week met with the 67-times capped striker, who has scored 33 goals for his country.

Perhaps its a personal agreement to sign over the summer, or maybe its BS.

If I were you, I would worry more about withstanding the Kop this coming Tuesday without Ricardo Carvalho rather than praying for Milan to beat us.

buffon is not going to milan...
if he goes anywhere, i heard he would want to go and play in england or something. but i doubt that too. he should stay at juve.
i think dida is doing fine in milan.
also, i heard that milan wanted to buy that new goalie that replaced dida in brazil or something? is that true?

i wanna see a milan-chelsea final badly..thats what it should be, ManU dont deserve to be in there, everybody thinks, oh just cuz manu beat roma 7-1, they are so amazing, omg omg omg!

and Carvalho wasnt 100% fit for liverpool last week....and he set up the match winning goal...and also, even if he isnt there, we have some decent replacements

This is somehow true, but is not only true for Italy. Spanish palyers never played abroad until few years ago. In fact Italian players left their country before the Spanish did. Remember Zola, Di Canio, Di Mateo, Simeone, Carbone ....

Even Materazzi had a season with Everton, and we all know Gattuso played for Rangers as well.

Gianluca Vialli as well, but most of these guys were either unknowns or wanted to have a final fling with football in their 30s by playing in England.

You are right about this. Only I think that Zola and Ravanelli both played for Italy national team while playing in England.

And more recently (but before the scandal, Cudicini...)

True, but 95% of spanish players are crap! Spain never won any major tournament, did they?
