PELE: Kaka is best in the world

        http://u.tv/newsroom/indepth.asp?id=37991&pt=s

SOCCER: Pele hails Milan's Kaka as best player in the world

Pele has dubbed AC Milan midfielder Kaka "the best player in the world", ahead of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid target Kaka, 25, was in sparkling form in Europe this season and won Pele`s admiration after leading AC Milan to a seventh Champions League/European Cup crown.

The Brazil international finished as top scorer in the competition with 10 goals, including three in the Rossoneri`s 5-3 aggregate semi-final win against United.
"Kaka is the best player in the world, without a doubt," said Pele in Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kaka and Portugal international Ronaldo have arguably been the stars of European football this past season, with the media and pundits alike clamouring to have their say on who is the more talented of the two.

Ronaldo, 22, recently won the English PFA Players` Player and Young Player of the Year awards, and walked off with the 2007 Portuguese Footballer of the Year gong in the wake of his starring role in United`s successful Premiership campaign.

But for Pele, compatriot Kaka has the edge over the talented winger.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in England," he added. "But from that to being the best player in the world there is still some way.

"Kaka is a player with great quality and that makes him stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo and that will help him become one of the best players ever."

Madrid To Offer 80m For Kaka - Report

Spanish daily AS continue to insist that Real Madrid will launch a massive offensive to land Kaka once Fabio Capello is sacked on Monday. The transfer strategy for the summer is already in place...

zoom - galleria Ramon Calderon is unwilling to give up on landing Kaka, and believes that persistent pressure on Milan will tell.

AS report that Real Madrid have a 110 million euro transfer budget for this summer, and are ready to spend 80 of those on the Brazilian play-maker, making him the most expensive signing in football history.

Jose Angel Sanchez, a board member with contacts in Milan, and sporting director Pedja Mijatovic have been handed the license to step up their efforts.

The offensive will be launched on Monday, when it is expected that Fabio Capello will be sacked.

Bernd Schuster, the man supposed to replace him, has already given his endorsement saying: "Kaka is more important that Cristiano Ronaldo."

Diogo Kotscho, an associate of the player has admitted that transfer records would be torched if the move goes through: "If Madrid managed to sign Kaka, he would be the most expensive signing in football ever.

"Real Madrid's offer is really good, and until the 31st of August, it is impossible to rule out the fact that Kaka will be at the Bernabeu next season."

The report suggests that should this move go through, Real Madrid will use the rest of the budget will be used to land Heinze, Saviola, Dudek and Makelele.

However, Real Madrid also have a plan B in place, should the attempt fail: Cesc, Robben and Daniel Alves will enter into the fray instead

i hope milan dont sell him, notbecause he i the best but because i know milan wont do anything with the money

            Milan In New Striker Link

The Rossoneri might turn their attention towards the Copa America in order to find their new striker after losing David Suazo to Inter and having their offers for Eto`o' rejected by Barcelona.

zoom - galleria Milan are being linked to a new striker, Brazilian player Fred, who currently plays for Olympique Lyons.

This was revealed during a program, 'Azzurro Italia', on Italian TV station Antenna 3, where it was claimed that the Rossoneri will be following closely the Copa America to see how the player fares before making an official bid.

In the meantime, the Rossoneri will also be looking around during this competition to see whether any other player will catch their attention as Milan continue their search for a new striker for the frontline, in order to continue strengthening the side ahead for next season.

Fred has been very consistent in his last two years with Lyon after joining the French champions from Cruzeiro. In the past season, the Brazilian striker managed to score 11 goals from 20 Ligue 1 games.

milan will prolly get him as they are on brazilians nuts

Madrid To Offer Emerson And Baptista In Kaka Deal?

An cash plus player deal involving three Brazilians is the latest plan Real Madrid seem to have devised in order to land Kaka.

zoom - galleria With Barcelona having signed Thierry Henry, the pressure is growing on Real Madrid, and in particular president Ramon Calderon, to respond with a star signing.

He has yet to sign any of the stars he promised during his election campaign last summer, and needs to come good on at least one following the Frenchman's move to the Camp Nou.

With Capello likely to leave the club, it will be even more important to sign a star to help tide over any hiccups.

Contrary to recent claims, Real Madrid are not willing to dish out 80 million euros for one player. However, that does not mean thay have given up on Kaka.

According to reports in Spain, the Merengue president has devised an offer that he believes might just be too good for Milan to refuse. It involves Milan target Emerson, forward Julio Baptista, and a cool 50 million.

Madrid are determined to sign Kaka at any cost, but will keep the 80m cash offer as a last resort.

Kaka, as earlier reports have already indicated, will earn 12 million per season. Such is the difference between Italy and Spain that it will still be a bargain for Los Merengues, as they estimate that the income thanks to the player will be between 15 and 20 million.

                    Ancelotti Targets A New Striker

The Milan coach spoke about the current transfer market, indicating that the Rossoneri are only looking for a new quick and technical attacker as they are covered in the other positions.

zoom - galleria Carlo Ancelotti wanted to explain Milan's situation in the transfer market, in particular with regards to one of their main targets, Brazilian forward Pato, who is also being linked to a Chelsea move.

"Pato is a young player, very young, but it's not just us who like him, as there are many big clubs. If he is the new Kaka? Let's not exaggerate..."

The main target remains Samuel Eto`o' of Barcelona, even though he is not the only one. However, Ancelotti does not want to mention any other names for the time being.

"Eto`o' is a very important player," admitted Ancelotti to 'Sky'. "If anyone arrives, it will still be an attacker. In defence and in midfield we're fine."

if he wont tell you i will.
The other names are Shevchenko, Drogba, and Villa. I think for me, the best case scenario is for pato to stay in brazil until january (which is quite likely because he is having work permit issues) because if he goes to europe, no matter where, it will look like villa wont come to milan. If pato comes to milan then milan wont need him. If Pato goes to chelsea then chelsea is going to want to unload either drogba or shevchenko, and that person is probably certain to go to milan (out of those 2 i would prefer drogba but its probably going to be shevchenko). So milan will get 1 of these players and wont need villa. Eto'o isnt for sale, so i think IF pato stays in brazil milans chances of getting villa will be great

Berlusconi On Adriano: "I Hope We Can Strike A Deal With Inter"

Silvio Berlusconi revealed on this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport that he would enjoy having Adriano at Milan.

zoom - galleria The Inter forward has been linked with the Rossoneri over the last few days, and the Italian media continue to hint towards a secret deal between the two Milan rivals.

The agreement, it is being rumoured, was already reached when Milan agreed to back out and let David Suazo go to Inter.

The Rossoneri (using the deal they had reached with Cagliari) allowed the Honduran striker to leave for Inter only in exchange for Adriano, and the two teams will supposedly be working out the financial details of the deal in these days.

Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi dropped a big hint today, admitting that he would be delighted if the move went through.

"It would be great if we can sign him!" he said. "I’ve always like Adriano and I think that he would enjoy it here.

"There are many Brazilians, and we are a big family.

"He could give his best with us. The same happened to Ronaldo. If we can reach a deal with Inter, I would like to sign him."

The Milan supremo also spoke of the Suazo affair: "It was Cagliari who offered the player to us.

"When we thought that it wasn’t possible to sign him, we backtracked, without bothering Inter."

milan is known for buying struggling inter players and bringing em back to the player they once were ie pirlo seedorf ronaldo next adriano?

Drogba Drops Exit Bomb On Chelsea

Didier Drogba will have worried the Chelsea camp with his comment that he is considering a move away from the Premiership.

zoom - galleria The Ivorian has been linked with a move to Milan, and has himself flirted with the Rossoneri in the past.

The links had gone quiet for a few weeks, but seem to have resurfaced following some surprising comments from the striker.

Drogba reveals that he is at a crossroads, and is seriously condering a move outside England, so much so that he does not know what could happen next week.

"You want to know if I will still return to Chelsea? I will reply to that when I am ready," he told The Sun.

"For now I am having a deserved vacation."

"I love the English league and may not be in a hurry to leave England if you insist," he continued.

"But it's difficult to really predict what I want to do in the next week.

"I have been working hard and would love to win the Champions League with Chelsea.

"But, for now, let's just wait and see. I'm at the last big turning point of my career.

"It's time for one final big choice: 'Should I stay or should I go?'

"I am tempted to discover another world and to see what footballing life is like outside England."

The news will be welcomed in Milan, as much as it will worry the Stamford Bridge bosses, who are looking for a very quiet summer.

no not really...crazy price tag. He is worth it imo tho.

                              Drogba >>>>>>Adriano

The only way i wont be extremely pissed off about villa not coming is if Drogba comes. Very capable midfielder, better than sheva, better than pato, much better than adriano. Adriano?! wtf? Where did he come from lol. I bet if i tell milan i am brazilian they might try to sign me. This is getting rediculous lol.

Drogba would be GREAT tho. Definitley helping us keep pace with barca.
