                Milan Back On Ronaldinho

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi considers the Brazilian ace the only player for which he would make a significant economic sacrifice.

zoom - galleria The operation for Ronaldinho could see a sudden turning point coming about. President Silvio Berlusconi wanted to speed things up, to the point that he allegedly directly approached Barcelona president Joan Laporta on the issue.

Milan managers Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani will now probably make a quick trip to the Catalan capital to talk about the issue and possibly find a deal for the transfer of the Brazilian superstar. It is an enterprise which will cost Milan 120 million euros including costs for the transfer and the player's salary. So the Rossoneri will not make use of Ronnie's buy-out clause, which is around 125 million euros.

The input to speed up the operations started on Sunday evening at Arcore: Berlusconi explained to his collaborators how, why, and when he wants to buy Ronaldinho. He reiterated that the Brazilian is the only player he would make a significant economical investment for. That's why he wanted to take control of the situation and speak with Laporta without intermediaries. Considering the good relations with Barcelona, there is the will to arrive at an agreement with the Catalans without turning it into a battle.

"It's a recognition which fills with pride, which deeply honors the club, the players, and also a bit myself. It's a huge recognition, also because it comes from a nation that does not always have the highest opinions about us, and the magazine is of the highest quality. We are very proud, this is a great pleasure. I am surprised because even though I knew we were good but to see us up there, named as the best club side of all time is an honor that leaves me speechless.

"I believe that in football it's important to combine two things: winning and convincing. And try to be active protagonists, never passive, to have control over the pitch, the play, and the initiative. We may not have succeeded always but we always tried. It was also important to have a club structure that was patient, competent, which did not put pressure on people and allowed them space. And finding players who were highly motivated, very professional, and of great character. I think this was the real secret: to work with people of this caliber, in such a positive atmosphere, with an enthusiasm that kept on growing, and also the type of football that we played increased the euphoria. We have always tried to go everywhere in the world to impose our style of football, always.

MILAN, July 24 (Reuters) - Brazil playmaker Kaka said on Tuesday he was committed to AC Milan and had never asked for a transfer to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
The European champions have spent most of the close season repelling Real's advances for 25-year-old Kaka, one of the best players in the world.
Milan said in June they were aware Kaka's father had met Madrid officials.
Kaka, who was rested from the Copa America at Milan's request, has been back in Brazil and had stayed silent on the matter until now.
'I have never demanded anything at Milan, I have never asked to renew my contract, to leave or to have a clause to rescind it like many have said,' Kaka told a news conference at Milan's training ground. 'There was a meeting with Real Madrid and Milan were the first to know about it.'
Milan President Silvio Berlusconi reaffirmed on Monday that Kaka would not be sold.
'The fans can stay calm, what president Berlusconi said yesterday is certain. I have a contract with Milan until 2011, the door for Real Madrid is closed and only Milan can reopen it if they decide to sell me,' Kaka said. 'I see myself as a symbol of Milan.'

This boy has loyalty unlike some players that i know.

Milan have confirmed that they are interested in signing Real Madrid forward Julio Baptista.

Rossoneri boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bolster his attacking options and has made Baptista one of his top targets.

Baptista's future at Real looks uncertain after he spent last season on loan at Arsenal.

The burly forward is now back at El Santiago Bernabeu after failing to win a permanent move to Arsenal.

Milan and Real officials are thought to have met last week to discuss a possible deal for Baptista and the Italian's vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted they would like to sign the Brazilian on loan with the option to make the move permanent.

"The situation is very clear, if Real are willing to let him leave on a loan deal with a buy-out option we can strike a deal," said Galliani.

"Otherwise we will make no changes and play with Clarence Seedorf, Kaka, Ronaldo, Pippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino, which isn't bad at all."

Galliani also rejected rumours that Real were preparing a record-breaking offer for Kaka.

Real have been continually linked with the classy forward, but Galliani is adamant the player is going nowhere.

"Kaka? No Real official asked for him or included Baptista in an offer for him, they know that he cannot be bought and that we will keep him for at least four more years," added Galliani.

Playing With Ronaldo A Dream Come True - Pato

Latest Milan purchase Pato talked about the prospect of playing alongside Ronaldo and revealed that the Rossoneri are following another young Brazilian talent...

zoom - galleria Here he is again, Alexandre Pato. A bit less awkward than when he first arrived in Italy a few weeks ago, but still quite shy and controlled. From his home town of Porto Alegre, the young prodigy talked about his new club, European champions Milan. In particular he went into detail discussing Ronaldo, the man he hopes can be his mentor.

"You say I'm a star, but he is the real phenomenon," the striker said to Zero Hora magazine. "I can only learn from Ronaldo," he continued, "I will ask for his advice very often."

According to Pato, the 'phenomenon' seemed very available to give him that advice: "When I arrived at Milanello I got to know all my new team mates. He approached me, and told me that if I ever needed his help for anything when I'm in Milan I could contact him."

A situation that obviously delighted the young Brazilian who has always idolised Ronaldo: "It's a dream come true for me, I can't wait to start playing alongside him."

But that's not all as far as Pato's dreams are concerned. He would also like to wear the Milan shirt together with Carlos Eduardo, another talented young player from Gremio and a good friend of his. The latest addition to the Milan squad also somewhat uncautiously revealed that a negotiation could be taking place to bring Eduardo to Milan as well.

"I've heard that Milan are following him, it would be excellent if they bought him, I would be very happy about that. I know his agent is taking care of it," Pato said.

The agent in question, Jorge Machado, revealed that a move may indeed be on the cards: "A major Italian club is following my client. Milan? I'll let you figure it out."
