    Poland cruise in Abu Dhabi

A makeshift Poland side has comfortably beat United Arab Emirates 5-2 in front of a handful of spectators in Abu Dhabi.

Poland included nine newcomers but still proved too strong for their opponents as Bartlomiej Grzelak (2), Marcin Wasilewski, Pawel Magdol, and Radoslaw Matusiak found the net for the visitors.

Subait Khater Fayel Al-Mekhaini and Mohammed Rashid Salem Srour (pen), got the goals for UAE.

Grzelak opened the scoring in the eighth minute. Having seen two shots blocked by the goalkeeper, it was third time lucky for the debutant.

Wasilewski then doubled the lead, heading home from a corner after his first effort had been blocked on the line.

Subait Khater got the hosts back in the game in the 26th minute with a shot from outside the area which beat goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski with an awkward bounce.

Grzelak got his second five minutes into the second half, going one-on-one with the goalkeeper before slotting the ball home.

Jakub Wawrzyniak then brought down Mohammed Rashid Salem Srour to concede a penalty which the substitute scored himself.

However, Poland made sure of victory with two more late goals.

Magdon took advantage of some sloppy defending to score from a corner before Matusiak burst through the UAE rearguard to finish from close range.

It proved to be a comfortable win for Poland and UAE have work to do to avoid a similar scoreline when they face Slovakia on the weekend.
