Guerins got a good offensive team to help him put up stats, their defense is horrible, and that kills any chance for St. Louis. The best teams in the league right now are the ones with a solid goaltender. The east is so clumped up I hope MTL makes it.

Right now Vancouver is pounding on the best team in the NHL, Detroit. Can anyone stop the Nucks?? NOPE.

It helps when the ref dishes out penalties for the first two period and give the detroit pk a good workout doesn't it.

At the end of the day Detroit will still win the league. They have two games on Nashville

if i was the sharks no joke i would really trade joe thornton, i hate that guy man. hes a loser hes a stuck up snob who thinks he is the best and has no love for the team as wel as the fans, but i dunno why the fans love him so much. everytime they say his name i boo him. and yeah .... hes too much over rated all the ppl in san jo are all like ooooo joe took us to the playoffs n shit. well he helped but we also had great goal tending and our youngsters and grinders were stepping up, as well as this year
Thornton may be slightly overrated, then again Don Cherry says he is the best player in the league and hockey is the only thing that racist knows.

He's a king to a lot of white Canadians. He has many followers here in Edmonton. But I don't like him, he's too Pro-Canadian. He's also mentioned not liking foreigners getting a chance to play at youth level in Canada saying they're stealing spots that a young Canadian should be getting. And recently he's been discrediting Malkin of late, saying rookie of the year should go to his Canadian team-mate Staal, which credit to him, is very debatable.

Khabalood the Red Wings were simply out played, that was a very one sided game. Red Wings have Bertuzzi now though, and even though I don't like him much, on form, hes the best power forward in the league. I wonder which line he'll play on. Probably along Datsyuk who's a great playmaker.

malkin should get rookie of the year not staal. we all know staal can finish and has shorties, but malkin can pass shoot score, etc. and i think right now malkin has the goal of the year vs the devils. "shades of Mario"-John Vanbreezbruick(i hope thats how you spell it)

Muradistan jaan, it was a very one sided game because of the numerous penalties given to detroit, which the commentators and Draper agreed on. The third period was Detroits. Luongo came up big in the third for Vancouver.

That seems like an impressive line, but neither Datsyuk or Zetterberg are a force in the playoffs, which is when Bertuzzi is expected back. I'm not sold on it yet. Introducing a player off the ir to a line with two players who do not produce in the playoffs for the first time, and having these same three players on your first line eating up ice time. Its a disaster waiting to happen.

Days like this I wish Detroit still had Yzerman, Fedorov, Shanahan from 97.

I'm pretty sure it was the three aforementioned players with Lidstrom and I'm not sure if Chelios was added in 97 or 98. Of course a decade ago Chelios was still considered one of the best defensemen in the league. But, Detroit didn't normally play a rigid system. They played three lines and used the other three offensive player interchangeably.

I think Lang was with Datsyuk on the first line last night.

I think it was Shanahan-Yzerman-Holmstrom during the late 90's. Bertuzzi in the playoffs can really work the defensive core of their opponents. I wouldn't be surprised if he injures a few players either legally or illegally. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi would be a prime line for Bertuzzi, he and Lang together are too slow, and I doubt they'd have much chemistry cycling the puck around.

                              one word: owned.

khabalood, ur a more optimistic person than me. Bill guerin socred 13 goals all of last year!!! and he didnt even play during the lockout. I guess he was working out the kinks last year.

btw, Im a hundred percent sure Bob gainey hasnt recovered from the death of his daughter. IM definilty not criticising him or anyhting but apparently the pheonix coyotes made CURTIS JOSEPH available to both mtl and toronto. Now toronto had reason no to take the deal (has nothing they could really part with) but motnreal?!!! I would trade david aebishcer for curtis jospehs left nut alone. This is a sort of deal old gainey wouldve jumped at. I really hope he can recover cause montreal needs his focus and hockey smarts.
