Cannavaro Nets FIFA World Player Award

According to speculation coming from Spain, the Real Madrid defender has won this new trophy following the Golden Ball award presented to him at the end of November by France Football. Up till a few days ago, everything seemed to point towards a third consecutive triumph for Ronaldinho in the FIFA World Player Award, voted on by all the national team coaches and captains of the world.

However, latest rumours are indicating a big margin win by the world champion over Zidane and Ronaldinho respectively.

According to this Spanish source, radio station Cadena Ser, Fabio Cannavaro received 498 votes, followed by retired Zinedine Zidane with 454 votes and surprisingly Ronaldinho in third place with 'just' 380 votes.

This would crown an amazing year for the Italian defender who won the Scudetto with Juventus, followed by the World Cup and the Golden Ball award.

The award will be handed by FIFA on Monday at the Opera House in Zurich, Switzerland.

No Aryaan jan, this is the FIFA award.

Yeah, Totti played well today, he scored two, assisted one and had an excellent freekick just tipped off the cross bar.

He deserves it, well him or Zidane either way. I wonder who QN and Mahdavikia voted for. And Viva this is so far all a rumor so Zidane could still win and spoil your Italian dreams.

Oh really!?! He got the prize for playing well for Italy (when he was not a Real player) and for Juventus.

So, Congrats to all the Juve and Italy fans.
