    question about italy and japan

    this is also about some other teams. but why are their (italy's and japan's) jerseys blue and not the colours of their flags?

    I dont know about japan but Italy's national team is called the Azzuri which means the blues and its because of the mediterranean sea

        Ardi Jan, it is because when Italy began their football team, they were ruled by by the Savoys, and their family crest color was the blue they wear for sports. IT was a way to honor the royals.

          Blue is for Japanese Kingdom Color. Same as Dutch wearing the Orange

              so which is it for italy, the mediterranean sea or the royal family

              india wears blue too...
