Liverpool running out of options with Fernando Torres, says Roy Hodgson

The new Liverpool manager is hoping Torres will follow captain Steven Gerrard's example and publicly commit himself to the club but he concedes the player has misgivings.

Hodgson, who briefly met with the Spain international for the first time last week, insists Torres' apparent reluctance to commit himself to another season with Liverpool predates his time at the club.

"Unfortunately, I cannot do much more," Hodgson told the news of the World. "His beef is with the club and not me.

"Fernando's situation has nothing to do with me, he made that perfectly clear over the phone during the World Cup and when I met him face-to-face.

"He knows what I would like to do with the club. He knows how much I value him. But his issues are with what has gone on in the past rather than the future.

"I made it clear from my point of view I'm really looking forward to working with him and I believe he's a key figure at the club.

"I obviously want him to be a part of the team we're trying to build here and I can only hope he'll buy into what the club is offering him.

"I don't think there are any worries with him in terms of me personally or what we're doing.

"I think the concerns go back once again to the time before I came to the club [and] if he has problems with the club for things in the past, it is difficult for me to dismiss that."

He's a famous actor, he made 3 animated movies with dream works & 1 christmas special. No make up was needed, the only problem was his voice so they got mike mayers (austin powers) to do it for him. I still think Donkey was the best! Now you know who he is?

It depends on what their target is. Top 4 then yes he's got a very hard job to do. 5th & 7th is obtainable but you never know. If Arsenal wins the 1st game we'll see how things will end.
