anyway i have watched lucas tuup ro lo bede game after game after game....and today it reached my boiling point.
i have been watching him closely for a long time and i have never seen anything from him...other than the occasional fluky goal he is never doing much for the team and is very consistently playing poorly. yes some matches he plays well but 1 good match outa 10 mathes doesnt cut it for Liverpool.
I dont care if he might develop into Brazils 2014 midfielder how does that have to do with his current form and how he currently plays for liverpool???
same with mereiles...his a portugal superstar so what? i have not seen him deliver much yet, and this game he was only 2nd to lucas in giving the ball away. our midfield is absolutely shocking and we have no creativity due to these players, and we make absolutely no opportunities on goal.

Gerrard wasnt a superhero for us today, but was still heaps better than the other 2. he had the creativity to set torres through for our goal and made fantasic moves with torres , 1 of which he was very unlucky not to grab the winner.

Our current main problem is that even though we have 4-5 mids, non of them other than gerrard are capable of proper passing, and torres is left stranded with no1 to create chances for him other than gerrard.

Lucas had 8 misplaced passes in the last 4 games. means 2 misplaced passes each game which is a magnificent record for any player.

He ran over 14 KM on sunday. 14 KM.

the average distance travelled in 90 minutes, for midfielders is 10KM

Lucas ran 14KM less than 72 hours ago making 18M Ramires, 18M Zhirkov look like jokes.

Do you know why Malouda and Cole who are the best attacking trio on the left side of the league, created **** ALL on sunday?

becuase Meireles sacrificed his own game and tracked Cole back all the game, pressured him, and one of those pressings paid off as he stole the ball and set Torres up for the second.



in an ideal world, we would rest those players after such heavy game, but because of the lack of depth and alternatives and also injuries, we didn't have such luxury and thus have to start them again while they were half-shot before the game started. Ferguson rested almost his entire team on saturday for Manchester Derby. Because he could do it and the fixture and players available allowed him to do so.

We don't have that depth and luxury to do it, or we wouldn't start with ILL players (Meireles was sick all game, and couldn't continue after HT, explains his bad performance), and totally knackered players (Kuyt back after 1 month, starts 2 games in 3 days, Lucas ran 15KM in a game 3 days before).


and Gerrard bar his assist for Torres, was our most wasteful player. I criticize my childhood hero when necessary, he had tons of time and space to score the winner in 84th minute or lay it off for a Torres tap in, yet he didn't even control the ball and smashed it as he received it. Also a couple of times in second half he had awful decision making with the final ball that could have resulted in our goals.

I've been critical of Lucas before, but that lad is winning me over.
He is much more aggressive now, he is a lot more confident and his long rante passing is improving, and his performance on sunday would have made Mascheranos, Toures, and Essiens of this world proud. Not to mention he was excellent against Bolton, Blackburn and his short cameo Napoli as well, and also Brazil friendlies.

** Look at Nani. Look at Fletcher. Both of them were dog shit not long ago, United fans wanted to kill them (just like some idiot LFC fans with Lucas).....but Fergie persisted with them, they improved and now those 2 are United's most important players. Fletcher is one of the best CMs in the league while Nani is one of the top wingers in the world. This is what is needed with younger players. They didn't go from shit to world beaters over night. just consistent improvement, just like what Lucas and Ngog are showing now. Even on Red Cafe, Man United's most popular forum where they all hate Liverpool and throw insults at Liverpool players left and right, they have a thread comparing Lucas' progress with Fletcher and how criminally under-rated Lucas is. Just added this paragraph to add some perspective.

Hopefully, Comolli address the depth issue and especially a tricky winger in January. I hope NZogbia caught their eye. Have been a big fan of him for a while. Cracking little player

u keep referring to the 1 inspired performance against chelsea which i agreed with...but accept that he is inconsistent. i dont know where the stats are from but its not only about the amount of waste passes, its also about the amount of productive passes which i can find very little with Lucas. yes, he is a developing player and may become an important player in future, but no he isnt currently for me a starting player and should perhaps be used as a sub till his consistency improves.
i will try to watch him with more optimism in the next games but i still think that he lacks consistency and has very low creativity.

Elnino jaan I gotta admit, today was an excellent performance by Lucas.

We were very unlucky to lose late but I guess we had it coming. Torres really needs to make better use of his chances, and Rodriguez too missed a 1on1.

was about to say the same. here are my thought:

- Congrats to Pepe to be the first Liverpool keeper in history to have 100 PL clean sheets in less than 200 games

- Soto was amazing in the air again, almost scored

- Johnson was quite first half, but very solid defensively. Second half almost scored an unbelievable goal (shame Fridel saved it)

- Kuyt was shit. Drop him. I am bored of him

- Lucas+Meireles owned the midfield from the starting whistle. Fantastic pass by Lucas for Babel's goal. I really like this duo

- Maxi LISTEN!! you see, this time you didn't think about your shot and kicked the ball without thinking too much and IT WENT IN. Only if you did the same last weekend ugh. but learn some

- Ngog simply amazing. At age of 21, his first touch and hold up play is better than Nando. Amazing diving header for the first goal and a great assist for Maxi's goal. frustrated the hell outta Dunne all game. I love him. I bought his jersey last week. All the hype about Benzema, but Ngog keeps outscoring, ourperforming team in a much poorer team.

- Babel scored a good goal too (though offside), and it was good to see him happy.

Gerrard shouldn't play in CM as Lucas-Meireles has proved successful and are developing nicely. Stevie right wing to reply Kuyt. If we play like the Spurs game away from home, we have a good chance to beat in-crisis New Castle and Blackpool Away. considering all top teams face each other meantime, we have a good chance of climbing up the table by the boxing day:

One of the main reasons that Maxi get into scoring positions lately (though fluffing some) is because of Ngog and his movement. Ngog has been better than Cole and Kuyt combined this season and must keep his place.


I'll be pissed of Roy brought Gerrard back to CM, or kept playing Kuyt, or let Cole walk into the starting line up for Ngog

Lucas had another great game. ive been watching him more closely since wat u said and gotta agree, his tackles/interceptions/passing is great and only getting better every game. Mereiles is also settling in well.

Ngog really stepped it up today. if his gonna play like that i hope Torres has a baby every week! Babel also needs to be given more starts. He has some excellent skills and touches that can build opportunities. I prefer him on the wing than gerrard playing winger...Gerrard is a central off/def mid not a winger. Babels got pace and can run up and down the wing and make runs inside.

Its great to see that our squad is starting to have some depth and without carragher, gerrard, and torres we r not having problems. While having players that can win a match for you is great, we cant rely on only 1 or 2 players to carry the team all the time, and its great to see ngog/maxi/babel putting the ball in the net.

Its not serious right now but if Liverpool fails to make it to the Champions League and Chelsea increases their offer, it could happen in the summer.

His transfer request has been rejected by the club. What a lying rat I guess. Finally the club is stable, has a decent manager, and just made a record breaking signing and he had to ruin the party.

No one would have complained if her did it in summer, or even in 4 months, but to go to Chelsea (who have no chance of winning PL or CL) with 3 days to go is pointless.

He's been denied. I already burned my Torres shirt and his autobiography book.
