Every club wants a player in form, leading the team, and helping them win. Be it Lampard, Gerrard, C.Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka...that my friend is the truth regardless of what side I support or you do...one cant deny the very basis of club football in finding players and making players to lead a team to success in both domestic and international competitions my dear scouser rival.

btw...wasnt it Abramovich wanting Gerrard for Chelsea before he helped Liverpool win the Champs League in 2005 ? People were saying Gerrard will leave for Chelsea etc etc etc, but turns out he stayed back and showcased his loyalty and made them win silverware.

Gerrard is really special I will say that hands shwon, but then again so are the players I just listed above for their respective clubs and I didnt put any Championship or 2nd division names either.

Gerrard is so loyal to Liverpool he'd still stay if he was on zero pay and Liverpool, got demoted to League 20199784.

        Reading vs Liverpool

Our boys should see this purely as a chance to pick up points, and maybe as a friendly to prepare for later stages in the Champions League. Its Reading, away (which doesnt make any difference because Reading fans are dead inside).

Kick off: 3:00 pm BRITISH TIME!!!! Thats in 2 hours 45 mins...

        Teams:
Reading: Hahnemann, Federici, Halford, Ingimarsson, Bikey, Duberry, Shorey, Oster, Seol, Sidwell, Harper, Hunt, Kitson, Lita, Doyle, Long, De la Cruz, Gunnarsson, Bennett, Murty.

Liverpool: Reina, Finnan, Arbeloa, Hyypia, Carragher, Agger, Riise, Pennant, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Sissoko, Gonzalez, Bellamy, Kuyt, Crouch, Fowler, Dudek, Zenden.

        I reckon Liverpool will play:
        Goalie: Reina
        Defence: Finnan, Hyypia, Carragher, Riise
        Mid: Gerrard Alonso Mascherano Sissoko
        Strikers: Fowler Bellamy

Kuyt will be brought on as sub for Fowler? (I just think that Fowler hasnt been given much playing time compared to before since Bellamy and Kuyt came in. And Belamy instead of Kuyt because he's been out with rib injuries and needs the playing time to get back to form...)

Please Hasheem, no comments on the Reading game!

          We did win. Eventually.

          Match report to follow

EDIT: cant be bothered, it wasnt an importatn game. here are the imortant things:

Reading: Hahnemann, Gunnarsson, Ingimarsson, Duberry (Bikey 46), Shorey, Oster (Lita 82), Sidwell, Harper, Hunt, Doyle, Kitson.

          Booked: Kitson, Hahnemann.

          Goals: Gunnarsson 47.

Liverpool: Reina, Finnan, Hyypia, Carragher, Arbeloa, Gerrard, Sissoko, Mascherano, Gonzalez (Riise 79), Crouch (Pennant 65), Bellamy (Kuyt 50).

          Booked: Sissoko.

          Goals: Arbeloa 15, Kuyt 86.

My prediction for the team was 9 correct out of 11 players... and kuyt was brought on, but for bellamy.

Here's an interesting point: Riise, though usualy a defender, has recently been rbought forward to play in midfield. This is probably since benitez realised how he is so natural at bringing the ball in front of goal (and usually into the back of the net if he gets that far!)

Team News Ahead of PSV Clash, CL

Rafa Benitez is pretty confident that Xabi Alonso will be fit for the tie, having been rested against Reading last saturday.

Dirk Kuyt is banned, Aurelio is injured, so Gonzalez may start.

PSV travel to England with a 16-man squad as Alex, Ibrahim Afellay, Edison Mendes, Michael Reiziger, Alcides and Jan Kromkamp are all sidelined

Liverpool (confirmed): Reina, Finnan, Arbeloa, Carragher, Hyypia, Agger, Riise, Pennant, Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko, Mascherano, Gonzalez, Zenden, Bellamy, Crouch, Fowler, Dudek.

PSV Eindhoven (confirmed): Gomes, Feher, Da Costa, Simons, Salcido, Culina, Cocu, Vayrynen, Xiang, Kone, Farfan.

LFC Team prediction: (bear in mind i got 9 correct out of 11 last time )

            Goal: Reina
            Strikers: Bellamy, Crouch
            Mid: Gerrard, Mascherano, Riise, Gonzalez.
            Defence: Carragher, Finnan, Hyypia, Agger
            Obviously, I reckon 4-4-2

i watched last 10 mins... even though PSV needed to score 4 goals liverpool was dominating... i didnt see PSV get near liverpools net once, but liverpool nearly scored 2/3 more goals. i hope we get man u and teach em a lesson.

We've got Chelsea in the Semis, and AC Milan or Man U in the final. Personally, I think AC Milan. But w/e. anyhow, Reina, in the WHOLE match, had 2 shots to save, both from Jefferson Farfan.

PSV had Dirk Marcellis sent off for a foul on Zenden, and Bellamy was hobbling with something that looked pretty serious in the first half... he was stretchered off

true... Ive said this before, and I'll say it again: Chelsea play very ugly, boring football. Nothing inspirational, nothing exciting, they just do what they have to and nothing more. Liverpool have skill. Lots of it, and however chelsea play, the world famous LFC supporters will act as a twelth man and LFC will see AC in the final
