Aiii guys, Bad news & good news.
    I'll start with the bad:

"He was originally on the bench but he didn't really want to be there.

"I've no idea whether he stayed at the ground to watch the game. Will there be disciplinary action? That's something for next week.
"You can make your own judgements about it but it is very important that everyone associated with the club acts in a professional manner."

The comments of caretaker manager Nigel Pearson when quizzed post-match about the whereabouts of Charles N'Zogbia.

Meanwhile it's reported that Obafemi Martins declared himself unfit to travel (with a knee problem) when he learnt that Pearson also intended to name him
    on the bench.

The Chronicle's ubiquitous club insider added:

"When the team reported on Saturday for training, Oba Martins declared himself unfit, even though the medical people could find nothing wrong with him.
"He did not want to travel, but Nigel Pearson and Lee Clark, who were in charge of the team, told him he had to get on the plane and that he would have to undergo a fitness test at Watford yesterday morning.
"On Sunday morning he did not have a fitness test but declared himself unfit. He said that he had no intention of going to Vicarage Road, even though he was ordered to by the coaches as he was still a member of the squad and everyone should stick together.
"As a result, Martins did not go to Vicarage Road. He did not fly back with the team and at this moment in time nobody knows where he is."
"In the team meeting, while Nigel Pearson and Lee Clark were going over tactics, N'Zogbia was texting on his mobile phone.
"Some of the senior players were furious, and as a result N'Zogbia was removed from the substitutes' bench."

    Fcuking hell!!!
    And the good news is:

Sam Allardyce was unveiled at a SJP press call.
Freddy Shepherd was unable to attend due to having sustained a fractured rib (Allardyce confirmed that had nowt to do with him!) and instead Russell Cushing had a rare speaking part to introduce Sam.
Allardyce confirmed that he'd spoken to many of the first team squad earlier in the day but that Michael Owen hadn't been present due to a prior commitment in Ireland.
He also went on the record to say that he had no clause in his contract that allowed him to walk away to take the England national team job if it arose.
Asked about his perception of the Newcastle squad, Allardyce pinpointed the endless stream of injury problems and confirmed that this would be his priority.
He went on to mention reviewing the "training programme, strength programme and nutritional values" of the players, concluding:
"Far too many players at Newcastle over the years have had too many injuries too often."
Allardyce confirmed that he was unable to provide any details on the make up of his backroom staff.
A formal announcement was made to the City this morning as follows:
Newcastle United today announced that Mr Sam Allardyce has been appointed as Team Manager on a three year contract.

I hope that both Owen & Martins are with us next season (inshallah).

The first confirmed fixture of our pre-season campaign sees Gordon Strachan bring his Glasgow Celtic side to SJP on Thursday 26th July, kickoff tbc.

Scottish champions Celtic appear on Tyneside after completing a tour of the USA.

Details of other pre-season games are still to be finalised, but a second home game is in the pipeline against continental opposition.

United have also been invited to send a team down to Bradford Park Avenue as part of the former league club's centenary celebrations.

Skysports.com understands Antoine Sibierski has knocked back Newcastle's offer of a new deal.
Sibierski is a free agent after his existing deal expired at the end of the season.
The Frenchman joined Newcastle from Manchester City last August on a short-term deal and he impressed during his time at St James' Park.
Sibierski scored eight goals in 25 games and he made himself a firm favourite with the St James' Park faithful. The versatile performer was hoping to earn himself a two-year deal, but Newcastle were only prepared to offer him a one-year extension.

This takes the total clean up to 6 players (Bramble, Gootch, Moore, Bernard, Pavil & Supasibz).
I think the next ones to go will be: Babayaro, Carr, Dyer.

              More Owen news:

Newspaper reports on Tuesday confirm that Sam Allardyce has made his promised phone call and spoken to striker Michael Owen about his plans for Newcastle United next season.

Variously described as "encouraging" and "positive", it remains to be seen whether Owen will make any public comment as he returns to the England fold on Tuesday ahead of Friday's "B" international with Albania at Turf Moor.

Recent gossip continues to credit Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal all with at least an interest in the future of Owen, who of course is just concentrating on his fitness. And horses.

And while a successful return to Three Lions action on Friday followed by the two senior games next month will be a boost to Newcastle, it may also provide enough reassurance for one of the "big four" to show their hand.

Latest moves/speculation affecting alleged Newcastle targets:

Leighton Baines (Wigan) Both ourselves and Bolton are being linked with this left back who is in the England U21 squad with Milner and Taylor for the European Championships in June.

Gareth Bale (Southampton) in talks with Spurs after an undisclosed transfer fee was agreed.

Giles Barnes (Derby County) has assured Rams fans via the local press that he will remain at Pride Park, regardless of whether his side win promotion in the playoff final.

Sol Campbell (Portsmouth) Latest quotes from Harry Redknapp:

"Sol is still absolutely key for us. He has still a year to go on his contract and he's not going anywhere."

Tal Ben Haim (Bolton) Pompey's interest is this central defender may now end, but Chelsea remain strongly tipped to land this free transfer, with ourselves and West Ham also mentioned.

Sami Hyypia (Liverpool) situation tbc, expected to become clearer after Champs League final.

Sylvain Distin (Man City) signed a contract with Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Steve Sidwell (Reading) passed medical and has agreed to sign for Chelsea.

Marc Viduka (Smogs) toon speculation has been dismissed, no new deal agreed at the Riverside.

As you all probably know by now that 42% of the club was sold yesterday to Mike Ashely (25th richest man in the UK, just below 2BLN).

The great news is Keano (prick) is still sleeping & lost half of his players (all on loan from the mancs) that took the mackems to the premiership.
He wants to buy Nashaat Akram the Iraqi that plays for Al Shabab (KSA), GOOD LUCK PRICK.

I know, but what to do. Ajax F**ked us up and replaced the Toon with Arsenal in the Amsterdam cup.
For me i think Hartlepool will be a good game (to start with), Celtic is strong (stronger than half of the teams in the prem. Juve or Dortmond will be a good game too.
This list was not final. there might be more to come.
By the ay, Shearer said today that Owen will stay.
